Watching things and thinking about tropes
I've almost finished Bomb Girls, only two more episodes to go. I can't figure out if I've slowed down so much in watching it because I really, really don't want it to end, or because each episode is emotionally wringing in a way I don't really like in my television, as a rule. Probably a little bit of both. Continuing to have all the feelings about... well, all of them, really, depending on who's on-screen at that particular moment in time, but particularly Vera right now. I've been staring at the 'rivals to lovers' square on my 
trope_bingo card for a while now, because apparently I don't really go for any ships that fit that description, and the thought occurred that possibly Betty/Gladys could work. Except I love James (and yes I have read spoilers about where that ends up ;__;), and by this stage they've lost the rivals thing completely and have settled down into adorable stability. Oooh, or Vera/Carol. Except oh wait I hate Carol. :(
When's the next Vikings episode? I should write a square for that, except I still have COMPLICATED FEELINGS okay? Also I feel like it should involve research. (LOOK I KNOW YOU'RE ALL LAUGHING AT ME BECAUSE VIKINGS DOES NOT NEED RESEARCH, BUT IT'S MANAGED TO TRIP MY ASNAC BUTTONS (so if you didn't know, that was my undergrad degree, and it explains... a lot about me) AND NOW I'M LIKE, "WAIT, WAIT, STOP EVERYTHING, I CAN'T EVEN GO ANYWHERE WITH THIS UNTIL I'VE READ RAGNARS SAGA LOĐBRÓKAR IN THE ORIGINAL." And then I'm like, "Whoops, my Norse textbooks are all in England! Guess I can't write fic until I've retaught myself Norse using only the internet as a guide. :(" I'm pretty sure I'll get over this issue soon, because I'm really not going to get my Norse up to fluent reading level again right now. Someday, over the rainbow. (Besides, it would never end. "Oh dear, might as well relearn Old English!" "Hmmm, Mediaeval Welsh might be useful..." "Germanic Philology! Sure to need that!")
I also want to find a Really Serious Fandom to use for the 'au: coffeeshop' square, because it would make me laugh. One that's completely inappropriate for any kind of modern AU. :D:D:D
And I have no ideas for the other squares, really! I'm starting to run out of different fandom steam, maybe I am going to have to repeat a fandom! But that would be a shame. :(
