HELLO, MY FAVOURITES. I'M TOTALLY BACK.
So Tiree (the Scottish island I was crouched on) ended up looking more like this for most of the time I was there:
I KNOW OMG HOW MEDITERRANEAN DOES THAT SEA LOOK? Don't be fooled, the water is punishingly cold and the only reasons my brother is tranquilly floating in it are a) he's wearing a wetsuit and b) he's impervious to cold. But yeah, the weather got beautiful the second day we were there and I climbed on the roof to paint bits of the house (terrifying, you shouldn't do this unless you are like my brothers and bounce when you fall) and got a lamb named after me and did an Easter egg hunt and generally soaked in Tiree.
And then Paris looked like this for most of the time:
And like this some of the time:
And was of course unconscionably glamourous and beautiful and I really did eat rather a lot of pain au chocolat.
I haven't seen Avengers yet, DON'T TELL ME ANYTHING. I am really, really excited to see it, though, and my mum has just suggested a family trip (WTF, what about the film has attracted her?). Which on the one hand will be lovely, but on the other hand... who do I lean over to and go, "OMG HOW IN LOVE ARE THEY?" at the undoubtedly necessary moments? Who do I share my chest-clutching and high-pitched noises with? SADFACE. BE MORE USEFUL, FAMILY.
However, something I have done is read all of the Adrien English books by
Josh Lanyon. I have been dying to rec them to someone because they're so, so charming and I'm utterly in love with their narrator and gripped by their mysteries and ugh, they're so adorable and sometimes slightly scary and tense and frequently hilarious and generally wonderful that I might die. But they also have explicit m/m sex, so many of the people I would potentially rec them to I can't without getting a bit awkward. :( SO INSTEAD I REC THEM TO YOU GUYS, and I really think that if you have any interest in ripping yarns featuring delightfully complex people then you should probably give them a try.
Agatha Christie was one of the first British people to stand up on a surfboard, your argument is invalid.
I have something I keep wanting to say, and it never seems to fit into an entry because it's a weird thing to say apropos of nothing, but since I have made almost no effort to have the paragraphs of this entry have anything to do with each other, I'll just go ahead and shoehorn it in here: if you've got me on your reading list and feel shy about commenting on my entries please please don't. This comes from having read quite a few people on varous anon memes comment about how shy they feel about commenting on DW/LJ and maybe no one likes them and AHHH ANXIETY and the thought that there's anyone who'd like to talk to people but isn't doing so makes me sad. :( So, if you feel to, please talk to me! (If you don't feel to, I embrace you also: lurking is an excellent life choice if it's what you want to do.)
Aaaaand finally, I haven't written anything fun and fannish for a month and my brain is starting to itch, so:
Tell me a little about a story I haven't written, and I'll give you several sentences from that story.
Fandoms: Avengers movieverse, Merlin, Generation Kill, Psmith, Psych, lots of the animated Disney film, Dan'n'Lewis if you want. Also possible: stuff we've talked about or you've seen me mention recently, I have lots of fandoms. And origific stuff if you want to try me with a premise!
LET'S DO THIS THING, FANDOM. I'M GLAD TO BE HOME.
