I'm probably going to ignore it, but maybe not! I'll try to update it when and if I write anything, anyway. I do love AUs. Hypothetically, which column should I try for? *is pondering*

Whatever by
skoosiepants
Original, m/m, 58,071 words.
This is a lovely teenagers-being-dumb-and-also-coming-out fic.
skoosiepants has a light and humorous style which makes this really effective and enjoyable, with a large cast of interesting characters.

Open the Door by
Renay
Teen Wolf, Stiles/Derek, 22,452 words.
I love this so much, this is an amazing feel-good fic - it just feels so solid, like everyone in it is doing the best they can and being generally nice to each other. It's a wonderful pick-me-up, with some seriously hot pining and a really funny POV character.

A Fine and Public Place by
cest_what
Vorkosigan, Ivan/Byerly, 2408 words.
A quick and sweet Ivan/By from Yuletiday - I enjoyed the Ivan POV.

Birds of a Feather by
toft
Master and Commander, Jack/Stephen, 3102 words.
I think for this one you really only need the summary: Stephen is briefly indisposed (viz., a penguin), but things change remarkably little. I WILL ADD MORE WORDS ANYWAY. This is one of those fics that just makes me absolutely gleeful, because it is so ridiculous and yet so perfect and also adorable. It will probably improve your life.

The Pillars of Hercules
Avengers, Steve/Tony, medium.
Again, I'm going to let the summary do some of the speaking: In 1583, Don Antonio Stark dy Cerrara sets sail from Cadiz. But as they approach the Straits of Gibraltar, they're intercepted by the English privateer Sir Stephen Rogers, who has his sights set not on their cargo - but on Don Antonio himself. This felt sliiightly rushed, but probably because I would gleefully and gladly read another FIVE MILLION words of this. The author seems to really know her stuff, and it's amazing.

I had more to say, but it's all been consumed by the fog of I Am Ignoring My To-Do List. Today was my first day back at work. :( Oh, wait, except I've signed a contract to go and work in Sudan next year. I haven't posted it, but I've signed it. Also, just booked my flight home from Japan. That's... right. That's a thing. Which I did. (HOLY SHIT. GOODBYE JAPAN.) (Also, Tokyo-Osaka-Doha-London. *tilts head* Yay, that looks reallyreally super fun, doesn't it? UGH UGH and I always get so fucking twitchy on flights to London, all like, "I'M ALMOST HOME I'M ALMOST HOME I'M ALMOST HOME!!!!" except that I start doing that about eight hours before the plane touches down and it's frankly counter-productive because I spend the whole fucking journey basically vibrating on the edge of my seat.)
