"As of June 26, 2006, the band has finished its recording in Oxford, MS at Sweet Tea Dennis Herring and has returned to Portland, OR to finish overdubs and mixing. Johnny Marr is a confirmed member of the band, co-writing songs for the new album with Isaac Brock. According to Brock himself, Marr is now "a full blown member of the band," and he will tour with the band in the near future."
At first I thought, this is on Wikipedia, maybe it's total b.s., but there's also an article on the Billboard website to the same effect (where it states that Modest Mouse is a "revered indie band") as well as an article on the NME site (where the writer first says that the new LP will be Modest Mouse's seventh, and then says that it will be their second). I like Modest Mouse, and I like Johnny Marr, so I suppose this all is a good thing. I think. The LP will greet the world wearing the typically Modest Mouse-like title of "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank".
