I have a lot to say, but no order in which to say it that would make any sense. I will just start and go unitl I get distracted.
I am sitting in the kitchen right now, typing and watching the birds and chipmunks. There are 4 grackles, a robin and a cardinal, a chipmunk and a squirell. They are all working towards a common goal, emtying the bird feeder and taking every last piece of corn off of the cobs that I put out. They are soothing to watch. I so seldom feel soothed, that it is surprising to me that I feel soothed now. Even watching Ashley's doesn't calm me down.
I am doing this as I am between laundry loads. I also have dishes to do, but I don't want to stand at the sink. I hate that my sink faces a corner. Why not face a window?
Ashley is home from camp. I missed her quite a bit. Christopher and I had fun while she was gone, we went to see Ladies Must Swing at Olbrich, it was a great concert. The next night, we ventured downtown to see the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra do Concerts on the Square. The following day, we went to Summerfest. It was opening day, the day that there were power troubles. We still got to see The Cat Empire, but they had to play a short set. It was great. I was brave and went up to the stage and introduced myself to the band. I explained that Ashley couldn't make it, so they wrote her a note and the whole band autographed it. We framed it for her in a shaow box, along with the pan that they used and presented to her when she came home from camp. She was very excited. It feels so good to see your child genuinely happy.
We headed down to the Union on Saturday to hang out and catch Rhythm and Booms. We got there around 2pm. We had ice cream, played games, read, and just had a nice time chillin'. Then, around 8pm, there was an announcement that the fireworks were being postponed until the next day. UG! We still had a good day, but it was a bummer that we didn't get to see the fireworks.
Tomorrow, my parents are coming up and we will be going to the Monona carnival. ladies Must Swing will be playing again, so we will get to catch them.
I wanted to ask Nikol if she has ever been to Ten Chimney's. It is Alfred Lundt and Lynn Fontanne's home in Genesse Depot. I have always wanted to go tour the estate, and I think that you would really love it too. I need to see you so I can give you the baby gift that has been sitting here for so long!
If I have many spelling errors, I am going to blame it on the imac. I don't like the mac's keyboard and I always feel as though I am hitting the wrong keys. Okay, now I have to go get the laundry up and fold it. Folding hot laundry on a hot sticky day ought to be really fun.
