Wouldn't it be nice if we could just learn how to do things by uploading the information to our brains like they do in the Matrix? I sure think that it would make things a whole lot easier. But no. Since this is the real world, things don't work that way here, well that is unless they actually build machines that can do that in the future.
Anyway, driving is something that is not coming very easily for me. It is true that I am learning more as I practice, but that doesn't mean I don't have a freak out moment here or there. Especially when I live in one the busiest areas in the US, where crazy drivers are plentiful.
So, as I was driving earlier this evening, a fellow "lovely" driver decided that it would be perfectly okay to zoom past me at the speed of light.
Well this did two things: 1) It freaked the hell out of me, since I did not even see them until they drove by. And 2) It made me swerve into the other lane a little, which made my dad grab the wheel to put the car back on a straight path (which he did while calling that lovely driver anything but lovely).
The whole situation did not help my "trying to stay as calm as possible" state of mind. And I was just happy that there weren't a lot of cars out on the road at that time. The last thing I wanted to do was get into an accident on my third day driving on the "busy" roads.
I'm hoping that this whole learning process will go a smoothly as possible, even though I'll have to put up with people who think that they are the only ones on the road when they drive.
