I've been watching Babylon 5 with Steve because he's never seen it, except for a few stray episodes seen out of order and out of context. I'm thoroughly enjoying watching the series again from beginning to end, but my in-depth knowledge of the series has lead to some difficult conversations.
(After I made a remark about how JMS made Pat Tallman cry at Marcon by showing a particular episode)
Steve: Does Kosh die?
Me: Of course not.
(I knew I was going to be in trouble for that one)
(After said episode)
Steve: So Kosh is dead?
Me: Um... Well... It's complicated.
(After Z'ha'dum)
Steve: Sheridan can't be dead, he's back next season.
Me: Um... Well... It's complicated.
We just started season 4. He keeps asking questions, and my response to most of them amounts to "It's complicated." Because frankly, nothing in Babylon 5 is simple or straightforward.
