I've been more lurker, less poster since our internet was hooked up --- not to mention that I've been busy out of my mind with school, work, and the ponies.
Darcy had been doing really well at this new barn. No longer do I have to worry about sharing the arena with stuck up girls and a bitchy trainer beating my horse and threatening to send him to the glue factory (touch my horse again and I'll send you to the glue factory biatch). But this week Darcy's been on something (speed perhaps) and I'm suddently in a rush to find another trainer. I e-mailed one of the new trainers this morning whose been coming out to BNR to teach some of the boarders. Out of all the trainers I've watched, she's my favorite and she's got the credentials to match. There's no mirrors in the arena, hopefully she can come out and tell me what the hell I'm doing wrong that's making my horse want to go mach 10.
Speaking of going mach 10, Paul and I have been taking the bikes out a lot more with this beautiful weather. I've still got the
Ninja 250 that we got last year. But Paul on his
RC51 leaves us in the dust. Yesterday we were all alone in the I-90 tunnels and Paul took off. I was already in 6th gear with about 2000 rpms left before red-lining it and he expected me to chase after him --- It's okay, buddy, grandma will stay back here with the slow crowd. So we're looking for a new bike for me. We swung by the shop where Paul got his bike and they had me sit on some stuff. Every bike had a story and Paul's friend knew them all. A Suzuki that he sold to a lesbian who sold it back so she and her girlfriend could "buy sperm" was a contender. It fit me well and at 600ccs was a good 2nd bike. Well it was a contender until they put me on the Ducati.
Now I'm familiar with Ducatis. Paul had a monster that he had to push start every day for awhile and his buddy has two that aren't running (alright one of those is Paul's old monster but still). This bike is the Ducati 998 Matrix Edition --
shown here in the movie. Unlike all the Triumphs, Suzukis, and Kawasakis I've been sitting on, this bike is narrow, has a low center of gravity so it feels lighter, and it's just the right height for me, not too short and not too tall. Not to mention that when he turned it on it sounded like
Alan Rickman reading Shakespear.
Here is
the bike before he sold it the last time. It's in the same condition but ignore the price -- we're getting it for a steal. Paul assured me that if we walked into Ducati Seattle and told them how much we were getting the bike for they would laugh us out of there. Still it's more than we expected to pay so now we're wating to get approval from the bank.
Be sure to read the description that's given of the bike in the add. There's some white paint transfer on the left mirror as if someone got too close to the garage door, that's what he's talking about.
Please excuse my spelling and grammar errors -- I don't have time to proofread today.
