OTAKON REPORT!! (without pics..)
I haven't gotten the pictures from Otakon on my computer because it's a bit broken. :(
Anyway, this was a good Otakon! I loved spending most of my convention with Laura, Bre, Alexis and Jen. XD I love them.
Thursday:
Pre-reg pickup was a quick line. Laura had already gotten her badge, she had gotten there early because she was working for Tofu records. They had some really cool badges this year. But of course, I got the Saiyuki one. It was supporting Geneon taking Saiyuki Reload and Saiyuki Reload Gunlock... but I took it anyway because they were sexy in their tuxedos! XD lol. So after we got our badges, we went back to my house, planned, ordered and ate pizza, and talked a lot. Lol. We put the two mattresses in the house together on the ground of the master bedroom and we could fit 3 people on them. Bre decided she want to sleep on the ground. I felt bad... I wish we didn't have to have someone sleep on the ground!
Friday:
Waking up was a hard thing, for everyone. But once I took my shower I was up and ready to go! We had to be ready to get in there and up to the balconey area once the doors open so we could get concert tickets! So after a little bit of lobby trouble, we got in and we got our tickets!! YAY! Then we really had nothing to do until later. So we decided to get into the line for the dealers room, since we were just planning on walking around or sitting somewhere else until it opened. So Otakon was being stupid and opened the dealers room like a half hour late. The first place I hit was FUNimation! I got the Negima! box set! Score!! :D I also got Speed Grapher vol.1. Then I went to see Laura working at Cine East with Enrique. I bought Otakus in Love and Train Man. When I went over to the ADV Films booth, this guy kept talking to me about my backpack. It was annoying. He wouldn't leave me alone. My backpack wasn't heavy... it just stuck out a lot. Lol. I bought Princess Tutu vol.5 and left. Lol. Bre and I went around shopping a little. I bought an actual Death Note!! XD Then I went to Tofu Records and bought a Nana Kitade CD and the FMA Complete Best CD. I could get one poster, so I got a Nana Kitade one. I love her music. Bre tried to take a MUCC poster, but she got yelled at by some bitch. Bre was pissed. Lol. Then I went to go say hi to Monica and to get some stuff signed by her. Monica is so sweet. She told me "you and your boyfriend are sooo cute!" That made me really happy! XD So I was talking to Alexis on the phone while she was at the lunch in for Wrenchies. She let me talk on the phone with Caitlin! I enjoyed that. :) Bre and I got tired and ate at Edo Sushi. Jen met us there. I blew 16 bucks in there. Then I called Alexis and she was in the dealers room with Caitlin. So I met up with them. I had to get sushi to Laura and Enrique as Bre went to buy more sushi for them. Lol. It was a funny situation. So I hung a little with Caitlin and Alexis. Cailtin then had to go to the Negima premiere panel, but Alexis and I stayed in the dealers room until a little bit before the Moonphase premiere panel. We came in for a little bit of the Negima premiere and when we arrived, Caitlin waved to Alexis, Bre and I. It was nice. Lol. Then we moved up front for Moonphase. There was a voice actor named Troy who was pretty good looking. He wears cowboy hats! Lol! Bre and I were like “look at what Laura is missing by helping out Enrique!” so Bre took a pic of Troy on her cell and sent it to Laura and Laura was like “who is that?” and Bre made me answer and I said “another sexy voice actor named Troy.” And she was like “OMG!” lol. During the panel, Troy picked on Bre when she zoned out for a little bit and Troy said to Monica “boy doesn’t that girl there look bored?” and pointed to Bre. Bre was like “what? Me? No..” lol. Bre wasn’t very fond of him anymore because of that. Lol. But someone couldn’t find the Moonphase disc, so we watch Shin-chan. That was hilarious! I’m so getting that when it comes out. Lol! After the Moonphase panel, we went to get Laura from the dealers room, Alexis left because she wasn’t going to the concert. Laura, Bre and I went into the Hyatt bathroom so I could change out of my costume and into my hott tunic! Lol. Then we met my dad outside of the Hyatt and he picked us up and drove us to the Ram’s Head Live for the concert. The concert was amazing! Nana Kitade is cool. She wasn’t really playing her guitar though. Her hair extensions got caught on her guitar, so she was like “screw it” and couldn’t take it off so she left it on and dancing and jumped around with her guitar around her. I still showed her some appreciation because a lot of people were there for just MUCC and I was there for both Nana and MUCC. Laura and I got pushed around a lot. We also got hit on by this creepy lesbian girl next to us. During MUCC, she would push me with her hip away from the side. It got annoying. Laura was being pushed too by this bitch and her boyfriend next to her. So Laura and I were getting pushed into each other by bitches.. and behind us we had fat people cramming us into the front. We were in the front side of the stage. It was a nice view.. but it was just annoying with all the pushing. MUCC was amazing. I like them now. The singer was crazy. All of them were CRAZY!! They way they were one stage.. it was amazingly crazy and awesome! Lol! After the concert, I was hungry so I made Bre and Laura come with me to the McDonalds near by to eat a snack wrap. I swear those things are amazing! Lol! Then Bre, Laura and I walked back to the convention, tired as hell, but we still wanted to RAVE!! Lol. So we went to the rave until 12:30 and then my dad pick us up. We had problems finding Jen.. my dad almost got a ticket waiting for us because we couldn’t find her! We got home, we all went right to sleep.
Saturday:
We woke up a little late. We were all kinda pooped. We didn’t make it out in time to get a good spot in MUCC’s autograph line. :’( But we were firsts in Nana Kitade’s autograph line and Bre got us a good spot in Yoshiki’s line. I got to meet a legend! Yoshiki looks so much like Laura’s sister it’s crazy! But he’s still good looking. But now I see Ali when I see Yoshiki. Lol. I was surprised of how protective Otakon was of these guests. Like.. I understand but I wasn’t used to no pictures and just sign one thing and go. I’m used to autograph sessions like voice actors, who talk to you, take pictures with you and are happy to sign more than one thing for you. We were in lines until a bit after 3pm. I felt so bad because Alexis was waiting for me in the dealers room… bored… on her birthday! But she got to hang with Christine Auten. I met her a little after being in the dealers room with Alexis. Monica sang happy birthday to Alexis, gave her a kiss on the cheek and then gave her a box full of FMA figures! It was sooo cute! I love Monica! She is such a sweet heart! I also got Monica to leave a message on Noah’s cell phone. It was funny. She started out like “Hey Noah! It’s Monica Rial. I’m at Otakon with your hoooney!!” :P Noah is going to love it! Monica, if you read this: THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Alexis and I hung out in the dealers room for a while just us. I felt bad leaving Laura and Bre but I explained to them later that I wanted to be with Alexis to make up for leaving her alone. I’m sorry Alexis! So after being in the dealers room, Laura, Bre and Ella met up with Alexis and I and we went to Capitol City to eat. It was really nice. Alexis ordered a kiddy’s meal. Lol. Laura and I got the same thing, the mini crab cakes. They were so cute! XD Lol. It was a nice lunch/dinner. We ate outside and got to enjoy some of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. On our way out, we ran into Caitlin and talked to her for a little. I was invited to join fansforchrist.org I may join it. Then we left, Alexis went to get a spot for Laura, Bre and I in the Basilisk Premiere with Ella while we went to go get a room key to the hotel we were using just for that night to put down our stuff. My friends from anime club were there, I miss them. We dropped off our stuff, I got changed, we missed the Basilisk premiere but we got there for the Trinity Blood premiere. Laura tried flirting with Troy about long walks on the beach. She was like “hey, I’ll got on a long walk on the beach with you!” and he was like, “are you 18 or older?” Laura said “no, 15..” and Troy said “it’ll have to be a very short walk then!” So after the Trinity Blood premiere, they showed a little bit of Moonphase. We left a little bit early to go RAVE! Lol. The rave was a lot of fun. I felt like I was being stalked by this weird guy that liked me my freshman year and his senior year when I liked his best friend. They’re both assholes. But whenever I was on one side of the front of the rave, he was there. If I’d move to the other side, he was there! It was annoying. Kyle tried to teach me how to glow stick, but I didn’t get it down. This random guy tried teaching me too. He thought I was really cute how I wouldn’t get it just right. Lol. After a little bit, he moved on. He kept laughing at me how I would try to get it, and almost get it but couldn’t. Lol. I felt retarded. Oh well. So after a while of still being watched and stalked by that guy, I asked Laura and Bre if we could leave and come back in a little bit. So we went outside. But we had to walk around to main entrance of the BCC to get back in. We came back in, and thank god I don’t think he was there. I danced with my girl pals from anime club and of course with Laura and Bre! We left around 1am and hung out in Meghan’s hotel room until my dad came to pick us up at 2am. Then we all went right to sleep again.
Sunday:
Dealers Room. That’s all we really did. I did go to the Artist Alley for a little bit with Jen. I already blew all my money though. Lol. Laura tried to talk to Troy some more. He was being an asshole to her and blowing her off. I worked a little bit at Cine East. I didn’t get paid.. so I guess I wasn’t very good at what I was trying to do. Oh well. I wasn’t there for long. When Laura and I came back from trying to talk to Troy, I just sat there and talked to Enrique and Andrew. Bre bought me snacks which was really nice! Thanks Bre!! Near the end, I said goodbye to Mike McFarland and Monica. Monica was like “make sure to let your boyfriend know I say hi!” I wrote to him saying Monica said hi. He’s going to feel so special. After the dealers room closed, we went to eat in the food court. We were finally able to eat there! XD After we ate, my dad said he wasn’t going to be there for another 45 minutes, so we hung out in the Inner Harbor for a little bit until he came and got us. It was sad that Otakon was all over. I was sad when everyone left because that meant it really was over, and it was back to the boring do nothing days of summer but work at stupid Giant.
That’s all I have to say about Otakon. It was a great convention! I can’t wait until AnimeUSA!! WOOT!!!!
