I've got an hour before I head into NorthEast Minneapolis to demo some songs, I've got my washburn hollowbody all packed up and ready to go, in case the guitar at the studio is lame, or doesn't sound or feel right. The songs to be recorded today are "Like pauper kings," "Ten inches of snow," "Robert Johnson's ghost," "Drunken bar blues," and "warm air blues." And then maybe some covers, maybe some other originals, but all the other originals I have are in the working stage and have large parts that are improvised, and so it's always a 50/50 chance to fuck those up, and I'm not a man who likes to do overdubs or more than one or two takes. I record to document a moment before it's gone.
Other than that I'm coming up on week three of unemployment, I've read a lot, played guitar, found a place in Red Wing....I start school on the 27th. Yeh, life is pretty good at the moment.
