there is an interesting parallel that i've just noticed. it seems to me that.....
the negative reaction to spider-man 3 that is now circulating is bringing out criticisms of the first 2 movies that i - and i consider myself a reasonable person - have always felt.
and
the negative reaction to the bush administration (specifically the new bill moyers documentary) that is now circulating is bringing out criticisms from the media about the past years of the regime that some - and i consider them reasonable - have always felt.
in both of these cases, it's screamingly, maddeningly obvious how each one is total crap and bullshit, but for some astounding reason, movie going audiences and news journalists (respectively) are only now waking up to the shittyness that surrounds them.
why does it take so long to tell the emperor that he has no clothes, be he spider-man or the president?
and is this even a coincidence? oh, who the hell cares, of course it is.
