my new sf adventuring buddy

last wednesday the 17th was when I first saw you. You were standing in the sun in front of the Ferry Building with the most puzzled expression on your face looking out searching for me. And I just walked straight up to you with a big smile on my face waving my hand. Your face quickly changed to a smile and you gave me a big hug. We spent a ridiculous amount of time walking through the market, tasting honey, playing with odds and ends at this hand crafted objects store and admiring orchids, and strolling down the piers. We shared chocolates after getting sucked into the whirlpool of delectable goodies and split a peanut butter truffle and spicy cherry chocolate while talking and overlooking the bay, golden gate, and alcatraz into the sunset and night.

alcatraz night wanderings, lumber mill exploring, stories from the reservation, lighthouses, leopard pants making, the motorcycle accident, the lobster in the bed, sea lion reincarnation, pretzel the snake, sink or swim, inline figure skating on the streets, flame throwing.

last night, take 2 - the adventures of nick and alice in the wonderland of golden gate park by night

pursuit of the dinosaur made out of flowers. sneaking around and peeking through the conservatory. stumbling upon the beautiful dahlias with the oddest names (Pooh, Stipley Spot) and touching and examining every one pointing out our favorites (the firework, lion heads, dark beauties), discovering the gargantuan aloe vera plant that looked like it could eat us (you could use it as an inefficient umbrella, or waterslide for birds, the coolest gutters), getting pricked in the fingers from touching the prickly pears on the cacti on the hills wondering if they would come off, watching a fat spider weave its web with our faces two inches away staring in awe, finding a cute sleeping bee in the nest of a dahlia's cozy center and learning about how bees used to hibernate in your windowsill in Maine, getting terribly lost in the park when the sun went down but treating it like an adventure rather than a dilemma.

string of peculiar lights dancing around in the sky from far away ("northern lights" haha), following our ears in the night to try and find the mysterious trumpet player in the park, finally finding our way fountainside in between the deyoung and cal academy tempted to take a quick dip through the water by dare, following our nose to try and find the sweet fragrance of a flower in the gardens we couldn't see, making a successful return to your car just in time for dinner.

quick detour to your apartment filled with African masks and vintage tin signs and an upside down tiffany lamp you secured as a chandelier, samurai swords and silly string, change for dinner and dancing, head down the street to Basil thai restaurant for an hour and a half (where I see you adorably make the effort to use chopsticks because I am, and are later amazed to see I can pick up a peanut and say I can eat pizza with them haha), end up going back to chill and talk at your place rather than go out dancing since you have to leave for Treasure Island to work at midnight.

cardboard tube arms and hats, sriracha mania, avocado conversion, "shampoo" island on the reservation, the infamous bald angel christmas topper, sketches of tattoos and designs, furniture decopage, room painting plan, arts and crafts, sidewalk scavenging, the curse of the oven, nights cutting through the water, ending with a goodbye in the rain.

so far so good :)
