Usual rules apply. Blue = have my babies, purple = we can adopt, red = sterile.

All BeeGees night? Uh...shoot me now?

Melinda Doolittle
Song 1: Love You Inside and Out
My thoughts: Don't really know this song. Outfit is okay but not spectacular. Not liking the hair as much tonight. Vocally she's fine. Melinda doing her thing. This song is a blue.
Judges say: Randy says going to be an interesting night, solid performance, not jumping up and down, good. Paula says it's hard to critique her because her vocals are always spot on, ramblerambleramble, consistent. Simon says not that impressed, expect incredible, wasn't incredible, more of a backing vocalist performance, not a star's performance, she's better than that.
Song 2: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart
My thoughts: I like this outfit okay, except her boobs have disappeared, but the necklaces don't help with the neck-less issue. Necklace neckless - I dun make a pun. I like seeing the soft side of Melinda here. Vocally very nice. Blue. I actually wish she hadn't gone to the power vocals at the end though - I wish she would have kept it all soft. Better than the first song.
Judges say: Randy says much better, great song, great vocal, beautiful ending, the resident pro, has it going on. Paula says beautiful vocal, queen of vocals, throwback to Stephanie Mills, vocals aren't everything, wants to see a surprise. Simon says the second half of the song has put her into the semi-finals.

Blake Lewis
Song 1: You Should be Dancing
My thoughts: The falsetto should be interesting. Barry likes the beatboxing. Outfit is sort of emo-Chinese, but I like it okay. Not so sure how I feel about the reverb they have on his mike. This isn't really working for me. He gets drowned out in places, and the reverb isn't happening for me. It's not horrible, but something is just weird. Some of the middle section beatboxing was pretty cool. This song was just a purple for me.
Judges say: Randy says sometimes when he does the beatboxing it works but not tonight, the song didn't need that, made it corny, felt like he was at a foreign disco. Paula says it started a little shaky, his pitch was off, his beatboxing shows true musicianship, not his best night, showed why he's unique and here. Simon says he's unique, thought it was terrible.
Song 2: This Is Where I Came In
My thoughts: Never heard of this song. Looks like he's going to do some more beatboxing. Outfit is okay. The song is very 80s pop. He's not overdoing the beatboxing, and he seems on pitch. Not great, but solid. Low blue.
Judges say: Randy says better than the last one, still not jumping up and down, doesn't have to beatbox on everything, liked the reggae spin. Paula says contemporary rebel, doesn't know the song, but enjoyed him singing it, sang spot-on key. Simon says doens't know what the song was, found it completely tuneless, doesn't know why he chose it, doesn't think he had a good night, really weird bizarre choice of songs.

Lakisha Jones
Song 1: Stayin' Alive
My thoughts: This should be interesting. I like the outfit today, like the hair. The beginning is a bit karaoke for me. The syncopation wasn't working for me, and it seems like she was running out of air in places. Eh. Purple.
Judges say: Randy says weird for him, didn't need to change the melody, wasn't working, didn't like the stop and start, tried to do too much. Paula says taking the tempo down was the wrong idea. Simon says no kiss tonight, back to the shouting, performance was verging on scary in parts, needs to bring it back on the second song, not great tonight so far.
Song 2: Run to Me
My thoughts: I've heard the song before but I don't really know it that well. Outfit is pretty good. She sounds a bit pitchy in places. Eh. I'm bored. It's not bad, but there's no spark. Purple. Ooh, and she totally cracked on the last note.
Judges say: Randy says better than the first song, good. Paula says don't beat yourself up, you're still a champ. Simon says better than the first song, still not great, she and Blake are vulnerable.

Jordin Sparks
Song 1: To Love Somebody
My thoughts: Outfit and hair are both cute. I love this song. Barry gave her mad compliments. And her performance? Major wow, major props. She's dead on. Great tone, great power notes, great performance. Best vocal so far tonight. Very, very blue. Blue plus even.
Judges say: Randy says best vocal so far, liked the Mariah/Aretha vibe, very nice, very controlled, so far she's winning tonight. Paula says looks beautiful, best vocal so far tonight. Simon says best song choice, best performance so far, we're back in the competition.
Song 2: A Woman in Love
My thoughts: Interesting song choice. Barry's singing her praises again. Dress is beautiful on her. Vocally she's fabulous. Don't like it quite as much as her first song, but it's still very good. Low blue performance. Although there were a few sharp notes. Good end note.
Judges say: Randy says not her best performance, pitchy, tough song. Paula says she's beautiful, not her best performance, loves her anyway. Simon says loves the song, thought it was old-fashioned and very pageant-y.

My picks:
Best: Jordin
Worst: Lakisha
Gone: Lakisha
