Election results thus far
Well my friends, if the results thus far are any indication, we are all well and truly fucked. Anyone have a decent country to move to that still believes in freedom and free markets? Or is it just going to have to be revolution time again here in the states?
Seriously, Barack 'Insane' Obama's socialist plans will be the death knell of this country, ushering in a new age of poor economic performance (why work hard when the government will just hand you free money), reduced freedom (via increased taxation, limits of freedom of speech etc), and increased taxes (to pay for the handouts to the people mentioned previously).
Seriously though, what are the options here?
1) Political change toward reduced government seems to be ineffective when campaign finance laws block non politicians from getting involved in the political process, and when the people are too stupid to ask what the cost is for all the promised government programs.
2) Move to a different country. I can't really seem to find any viable options here. Where as the socialist Democrats have Canada and most of Europe to move to, I'm stuck with no real options.
3) Revolution. The violent overthrow of the United States Government. At least the Framers had the sense to add the second amendment to make this possible (and yes, that is why it's there; the framers just finished out a war with a tyrannical government, and they realized that some day, it might be necessary again).
Well, we'll see how it all ends, I just don't see this ending well...
