"... and this part, Sharon, is where the dashing knight rescues the princess from the castle she was kept in."
The bouncing little girl (now far younger than how she currently looks to be) ate up the story most eagerly. Her hair was most notably in the same fashion as her mothers, and she was almost her spitting image-- almost. Her features were still slightly rounded and easily gave away the delight and freelance emotions of youth.
"Mother! Did you ever live in a castle?" she imploringly tugged upon her mother's sleeve. She was still short a few etiquette lessons.
Shelly smiled kindly down at her miniature mirror image, "Can't say I did, dear. Why do you ask?"
"Because..." she frowned and her eyebrows knit together as she looked for a way to say what she meant. Proper vocabulary was so hard to come by still. "Because Mother is just as wonderful as a princess. And..."
Again, she trailed off. Her eloquence likely wouldn't come to her for another year or so.
"And," she started again with renewed vigor, "Mother would always say how she got her happily ever after!"
Sharon's mother at first tried to smother her laughs, but she could not suppress them for long. Oh, how sweet her daughter could be, even if her execution was a little lacking. Not a moment too soon, the Rainsworth heiress was eveloped in her mother's arms, brought into a warm hug. She erupted into a fit of giggles of her own.
Just in time, the door opened and a familiar man stepped in, though he still didn't seem completely comfortable. Xerxes Break, free of bandages and only starting to be freed of melancholy, entered the room. "Ah, my apologies, my Lady... but I'd knocked and you hadn't seemed to have heard. There is an urgent matter that- ah... calls for your..."
His speech slowed as he noticed the little bundle of smiles and frills squirming out of her mother's arms and rushing towards him.
"Xerx-nii! Xerx-nii!" she called out to him as she rushed over, arms wide open for a hug.
"Sharon..." her mother's warning tone spoke from behind as she did not seem to approve of the girl's actions.
Oh... A hug wasn't proper, was it? She dropped her arms as she stopped in front of him and offered her hand instead. Was that better? A glance over her shoulder and her mother's approving nod told her that it was.
Returning her attention to the servant, she smiled brightly. And only after a moment's hesitation, he placed his hand in hers, if only out of obligation. Though that matter didn't cross the young girl's mind- she was still too carefree to worry about the lines between servant and big brother.
Shelly smiled at this. It seemed Xerxes was progressing along rather nicely. "Well, I suppose I should take my leave now, shouldn't I? Especially if the matter is as urgent as you claim, Xerxes."
Her hand clutching onto her dear Xerx-nii's now, Sharon looked up at her mouth with a pout. "You're going, Mother?"
And with an amused hum, Shelly took Sharon's other hand into hers and spoke gently. "Afraid so, dearest. But how about this? A new game that you can play whenever I'm gone." It looked like she caught Sharon's attention with this proposition and so she continued on, squeezing her hand gently, "I'm going to make you the new princess, alright?"
Sharon seemed to consider that for a moment before inquiring doubtfully, "Does that mean I have to wait in a castle...?"
Her mother laughed again and caught that even the man holding Sharon's other hand was amused. "No need for that, silly little girl. Your knight's already here, see? It's like we skipped a step. Right, Xerxes?"
Obviously caught off-guard, the man fought to find a proper response. For the moment, he was much easier to read. However as the heiress (and now princess) of the Rainsworth family looked up at him, he gave her a small smile in return. Only a small one, but... a smile nonetheless.
This was more than enough for her. Delighted and completely immersed in something new, Sharon hardly noticed her mother slipping out the door, or the look she exchanged with the new knight-of-sorts. For it didn't matter much to her anymore, for the princess was safe and happy now, even as the queen stepped out.

[Oh... that was rather embarrassing. Sharon's far too preoccupied with her dream being cast publicly to really notice the glow of the Dreamberry. However as she recounts the dream itself, she looks rather amused. A knight? Her Xerx-nii? Oh, how funny. For just a moment, it may seem like she's giggling at the very thought.
She shuts it off quickly, not wishing any more of the little secrets of her past to be leaked.]
