I love this. It's very quiet and melancholy, and makes me sad for Ruby. I never thought about her being physically exhausted from watching over Sam, but it makes sense. I love that he just accepted Ruby's presence and went back to sleep. I think it reflects how their relationship has been presented on the show.

Great work! There's a severe shortage of Sam/Ruby fic, so it's a real treat each time I read one!

After all that Ruby has done for Sam, for chosing his side and basically forsake everything that makes her kind, I've always imagine she'd be exhausted, especially considering what little she gets back in return.
