Archbishop Paulos Faraj Rahho was a man of peace and compassion, known for his charismatic leadership and his work with the poor and disabled of Mosul and Iraq. And maybe his abductors didn't behead him, or shoot him, or execute him like they have so many other Christians in Muslim states, but abducting a very sick man who was recovering from recent surgery? Is as good as pulling the trigger.
This was a man who dedicated his life to making his native Mosul a better place. He reached out to local Muslim leaders and worked hard to promote understanding and acceptance of all faiths. He helped Iraqis, period.
May his death inspire peace.
