The Idiot Box

There was a time when I didn't have a TV and I didn't watch anything for 4 years. It was great. Although I wasn't in on the latest pop culture reference jokes I didn't miss television at all.
Now that I'm living with my sister, I've been watching a lot of TV. And really I can understand now why my dad had always called it "the Idiot Box". I pretty much hate NBC They cancelled "Journey Man" one of the best shows I've ever seen. You can watch it on Hulu here  http://www.hulu.com/journeyman Watch it if you get a chance, it gets better with each episode. It's wonderful  ;_; the last episode made me cry so much. It's a crime that it's not getting another chance. They’ve been other great shows that have been cancelled yet.. Really crappy idiotic shows are popping up left and right. America's Got Talent..... that show make me so frustrated and embarrassed. I feel insulted by the way the show is done. Really I'm getting sick of networks treating the viewing audience like complete morons. Just read this.. http://www.popculturekitty.com/?p=92 Last year the show was completely different. I don't get why the producers decided to turn the audience into an angry mob.. It's so humiliating as an American, because I know this is being shown in some other countries. As if our reputation wasn't bad enough. >_< ugh. please don't judge us by our horrible reality TV shows. That's not how most of us really act.
Don't get me wrong there are some good shows. One Reality show that I'm so glad I watched was "So You Think You Can Dance." <3 I'm so sad it's over. I just love watching people dance. Dancers are just so beautiful and graceful. ♥ ♥ and this show was magnificent.
.. eh PBS always has great shows. I LOVE History Detectives. And I've also been totally morbid and watching true life murder mysteries. like "the First 48" and "48 hours mystery"
oh I was totally not going to watch the Olympics, just because I'm tired of all the political drama that always comes with it. But I just had to watch the mens gymnastic routine.. I'm so glad I did. It was just fantastic to watch. I'm so impressed by people who can do that sort of thing. and WOW China was amazing!!! Also OMG the US team got bronze @_@ that's crazy since the Hamm brothers got hurt you would think that was impossible but they did it. Good for them :)

As for Anime I just watched “Clannad” and really loved it. I was surprised because I usually hate that kind of show. But I found it really funny, and I totally want Tomoya as my boyfriend.  Because I liked Clannad I decided to try out Kanon, which is made by the same people. I thought it was ~okay. The main guy was boring, and some of the girls were pretty annoying, also it was really hard for me to see Ayu and Yuuichi as a couple because Ayu looks like she’s 10 years old. It just seems wrong! There were some very sad parts, all in all it was dramatic. I still can’t decide if I like it or not. >_< IDK

I thought I’d try AIR next, I hear it’s uber depressing. But  I think I can handle it.

I want to watch a fun action packed anime after that.. any suggestions?

Also since I’ve got a ton of free time. Besides watching TV I’ve been making Origami. Haha I’ve been in such an artists block lately and I’ve been totally depressed over it. I just tried some origami and now I’m feeling so much better and more creative than I’ve been in a long time.  I’m really trying to work on these Kusudama balls to make for people.

I only wish they could turn out this nice

It’s taking me a long time but it’s fun and I feel like I’m actually creating artwork. Ugh my drawings have sucked.. I’m getting more confidence with the origami so I think it’ll help me in the end with drawing.

Still no scanner.. ugh. One day I will be able to upload the comic pages.. one day.

origami, how to rot your brain, t.v. shows
