Originally uploaded by sup internetsLast night Mike and I headed to the club on FSU campus, Club Down Under to see Matt and Kim. It was a good thing that we were on the guest list, by the time we arrived (9ish) there was an insanely long line and they were all ready at capacity. I didn't really care for the opening band, the singer's voice was grating on my ears and the music was not interesting. But Matt and Kim were great. They had so much energy and were genuinely happy to be there playing music for us. I love bands like that. It's so refreshing. I get the impression so often that it's just another gig for them. I hate that. You could also feel how enamored they were with one another. So inspiI loved the vibe they gave off, it was infectious. Lots of crowd participation and singing along.

Originally uploaded by sup internetsThey had a neat stage set up too. These squares above and around them that would flash colors and patters, one minute argyle the next an optic illusion of some sort. I tried to take some photos to show how they looked. Hopefully you get the idea. After the show Kim jumped off the stage and ran out to the people could not get in. She hugged a whole mess of them, signed their stuff and took photos. Super nice lady.

Dream show for me, Matt and Kim and Mates of State. Couples I get it, pretty kitschy I know. Also took a short little video of their last song, "Day Light" you have most likely heard it before. It's a pretty fun song.
