--otherwise i usually try to track down the original icon post, if i can. i mean, you never know if something might be a personal gift icon that isn't sharable. plus... when you find the original post, you get more pretties that way. :D
lol, the "not a bumblebee" icon is pretty much my favorite right now. at the risk of sounding full of myself, i really like how it came out... and i love toki's expression in it. (it's special to me, that's why that one says "shared by request." but you're sweet, so you're totally welcome to it.)
it's actually one of the variations on a birthday icon i made for fae_touched earlier this year. if you want, you can check out the post with all of them, plus some variations on a gift icon for thatboydies, too. there are a couple in there that didn't make it into my userpics. but all sharable!

Feral had wax earplugs for our version of the concert. lol, it took the longest time to get them to stay in my ears... everybody helped! it was embarrassing, but funny.
this year we had box seats and i stayed there, but next year i'm definitely going to at least try going down to the stage. i'm afraid i might have to keep the earplugs in, then -- kinda afraid of permanently damaging my hearing. >_>
(although that would be pretty metal.)
I may consider going, though. I've never been to a con, and that would be a great opportunity!
exactly! it's right where you are: you wouldn't have to spend money on a plane ticket, or a hotel room (as long as you're willing/able to commute). my first HP conference was in salem a few years back, and the major factor in my decision to go was that it was right next door to me. :P
and let me just tell you: harry potter cons are MADE OF TOTAL WIN. i've never yet had the chance to go to a general fantasy/sci-fi convention, so i couldn't say how it compares... but it is so much fun. there are round tables, workshops, fic readings... and wizard rock, too!
for my money, infinitus sounds like it's going to be an especially awesome time (based on timing/location/HPEF's track record). i really hope you manage to go!
...and if i find at least a couple other metalocalypse fans that are coming (i'm still pulling for thatboydies and the_ginga), then i'll definitely try to organize an MTL meetup at the con. &&&
pfft, we don't mind lurkers joining at DE at all! truth be told, with this kind of community, it's the more the better. the heart and soul of it is discussion, not art and fic -- and you can't have a great discussion without lots of different people to put their two cents in. y'know?

Yeah, I don't like the idea of permanently damaging my hearing, but I rarely listen to stuff so loud and figured, fuck it. I'm not sure how we managed to get down the floor and so close the amps/stage, lol. I wish we were taller, though...tall people's heads kept blocking the screen!
More Metal fans should go. It's metals to likes Harry Potter. :P
