Shall I call this a crisis of faith?  No, that would be melodramatic.

Metalocalypse people on my f'list... I know there's few of you, but you're there.  And I could really use you guys right now.

I'm having major doubts about the community I'm working on, dethepisode - the one I first posted about last summer.  I'm just not sure right now whether it's worth the effort, or if anyone will join, or if I'll be interested enough/ ( Read more... )

hey, every little bit of input helps. :)

and what you said actually does address one of my main concerns...

the thing about Dethepisode is... i don't know if you've had the time/inclination to take a look at the comm, or read the post from last summer that i linked to. but the point is, it's not intended to be just another metalocalypse community. i do think we have enough, for such a small fandom -- after a while, you're just spreading people out too thin.

but this, i wanted to be a community with a specific purpose: to house and archive episode-related content and discussion. just that, nothing more.

i wouldn't want to compete with places like sausagefestival. what i'm worried about, is that people might still think i'm trying to compete with the general comms, even if i'm not; and with that in mind, they may choose to stay where they're already comfortable instead of joining some new community.

i mean, after all -- you can always go discuss the latest episode at any of the places that already exist. but the purpose of dethepisode would be to bring all the episode discussion (and related fic and artwork) together in one place. y'know?

anyway, if you have any further thoughts/responses, i'd love to hear 'em. and please feel free to argue your point if you disagree with me. :)
