It's been a while!
I haven't written in this thing in ages. I wonder if anyone will notice that I've updated.
Let's see since I last updated...
Went to Vegas, won $200 on a slot machine, paying for most of the trip. Went on Winter Retreat, had a blast, got to know some really cool kids I didn't know, especially Kacie. Worked 3 rounds of the CIF basketball playoffs, including the Division IV Girls Finals at Cox Arena at SDSU. My basketball league ended this past weekend, and I am hosting a 7th & 8th grade boys and girls tournament this next weekend. Lost a cap on a molar on the left side of my mouth and they yanked the tooth out last Monday. And Candy is done with her pre- surgery Chemotherapy. She has an appointment next Monday and they will schedule her surgery then. The chemo has shrunk the lumps in her breasts significantly, but they won't know if it will be a lumpectomy or a mastectomy until they find out if there is any cancer in her lymph nodes when they are actually doing the surgery. Please continue to pray for her and us.
This past weekend, I played with 4 different bands in 3 days. On Friday night, I played with Scott Wood's band at a Chrysalis Dance in El Cajon. On Saturday Night, I played with Hoosier Daddy at a private party for a lady who turned 80. She loves Elvis Presley, so we learned about 15 Elvis songs for the gig. I never realized how much alike all his songs are till this weekend. On Sunday Morning, I played with the Higher Ground Praise Team in Church, and on Sunday evening, I played with the High School Youth Group band at Sunday Night Live. It was fun.
I had a cool talk with Tanya at Youth Group about communism and capitalism and how it has effected her family. I asked her if she had ever seen the movie, "Dr. Zhivago", and she has not. We are going to try and see it while she is here. I really like Tanya, she is so easy to talk to and so very open. If she doesn't like something, she tells you.
I also put in for all the vacation I am planning on taking between now and my trip to Berlin this summer. I will still have 5 weeks vacation left after all that vacation time. Cool!!!
