Hey, folks.
Well, much to my pleasure, school is going rather well. Getting A's and B's all across the board. Had mt voice jury a couple of weeks ago (this being sort of a mid-term for my voice lessons there) and got a B+ signing "Yesterday" by Paul McCartney and "Sorry Seems To Be the Hardest Word" by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. I think I have gotten better since I started lessons at the start of the semester, having practiced the technique.
As such, my voice teacher yesterday as I entered the room asked me what I was thinking of doing for the upcoming vocal student recital. I only saw signs posted of this earlier that day and was going to ask questions about it, but her approach threw me off a little. I asked her, "Well, do you really think I'm ready?" She's like, "Yeah, you're doing real well so far." Cool, right? So, we discussed it for most of the lesson; I decided I was going to do a song I wrote, and we went over it once. The review is April 2 and the recital, itself, is April 5.
So, her eI am at work, having gotten a half day for the 5th (it's a Wednesday; I work during the days, then), so unless I foul up the review a ton, I'll be performing at the college's performance hall! Am I nervous? A little. I wonder if I'm actually ready, yet. My stage presence isn't all that wonderful, but my voice teacher gave me a few pointers on that, too. I simply need to be confident and the rest should fall into place.
So, wish me the successful breaking of legs! ^^ Thanks!
