damned protestants.

So, I, out of curiosity today, typed in "goth christian" on yahoo to see what it would come up with. Apparently, there is a gothic christianity movement and who is it run by but protestants. Which pretty much means it's a lame tactic to convert troubled teens. If one is going to be goth and christian, one ought to be at LEAST an old rite catholic and probably orthodox. What in the world is more gothic (in the modern sense of the word; not referring to an extinct germanic tribe) than one of the non-protestant churches? Blood, thorns, sorrow, incense, candles, chanting and dead languages. Bloody stories about saints and martyrs. The blood of Christ? Even satanists are just upstarts in comparison.

And let's talk about this Christian goth music...ugh....it's terrible. As is most contemporary Christian music. It is an abuse of Scripture and ecclesiastical history. Some jerkoff even tried to set the Creed to music (as has already been done...sometime before the year 1000...) and left out half the damn words and added others. This is Christian? No, this is egomania. The Christian music people had in the year 1600 was as good as it will probably ever get. Trying to make it all pop-friendly is disgusting, and you may as well just listen to DC Talk and go to a pentecostal or baptist den-of-heresy.

If I cared enough I'd start a countermovement. Maybe I should be a missionary for the Orthodox Church. Except then I'd have to argue with protestants, and that's like arguing calculus with a three year old.

Hmph.
