You know how there are little things that whoever you're attracted to will do that just... does it for you? It could be something simple or something that could verge on being a fetish or a kink, but when someone attractive does it, it just makes you FEEL THINGS.
That happened to me yesterday.
It was our last newscast of the semester, and it was also cold. Cold enough that I was regretting not having dug up my thermals by the time we got out for the night, because the wind chill was in the mid 30s by 5:30.
Anyway, so it was cold. I went up to the lab to work on some of the details for my task of the day and Matt came in, and he was wearing black baseball gloves, because he is from Texas and probably does not have proper gloves.
The thing of it is this: I have this random, I don't even know where it came from thing about men wearing black gloves. Especially if they're kind of tight, doubly so if they're leather driving gloves. I DO NOT KNOW WHERE THIS CAME FROM, OKAY. It is just something that makes me get flustered and messed up, and the worst part is that Matt kept taking them off and putting them back on and then he said something about feeling like a serial killer in them. And look, I obviously do not advocate murder and it wasn't the serial killer thing that was doing it for me, but the gloves.
He had no idea that every time he did this, my whole brain was freaking out so hard.
And it got worse, because as I mentioned earlier, it was our last newscast, right? And for the last show of the semester we always do a joke show. My contribution was a snarky gift guide, our anchors put on fake British accents the whole time, there was a flashmob that did the Macarena in front of the bagel place on campus, and Matt participated in a truly horrifying makeover segment (he looked like a sad clown hooker after, and honestly, that is the one thing that killed my massive perv-on of him for the rest of the show). But before that, he and a few other people did this dance segment, when Garrick (one of the guys who was anchor) was teaching people The Wobble, and what is this, Matt has no business shaking his hips like that.
I hate him.
In unrelated news: in Art and Gender today we watched part of La Dolce Vita, and one of my classmates knew exactly what I was talking about when I called Sylvia a Manic Pixie Dream Girl. Also, we're going to watch one of Antonioni's movies next class, and I'm pretty sure that I remember a reference being made to him in a Peanuts movie. I love it when I randomly remember pop culture references from books or cartoons that I was into as a kid.
I really, really want to see Maroon 5 on Christmas Eve. And Kelly Clarkson in February.
