It's different for every lj username -- and even displays stuff for users who don't exist. I think it just compares lj usernames to come up with its funky graph, and not their interests.

Try http://www.area23.com/meld/meld.php?username=not-an-lj-username and compare it with http://www.area23.com/meld/meld.php?username=not-an-lj-usernam (neither users exist).
