1. This morning, Annika decided to wear a blue dress that she got for her birthday. Its from Target, and it has a "scoopneck" so its really easy to put on and take off with the added bonus of not making her hair frizzy when she dresses. Being in an exceptionally great mood, she was chattering away about her clothes and friends and what snacks she wanted in the near future. No, you can't have Little Debbie Snacks, they're not healthy. Chips aren't healthy either. Anyway, she looks up at me and says "I don't know why I think this in my head but when I put on the dress, I think 'always a good day with a bigger neck shirt!'" LOL. I wonder if I have any Bigger Neck Shirts hanging around:)

2. This afternoon, Callan was finishing his homework (reading questions) and got stuck on the last question. It was specific to the story about firefighters and asked "What does E.D.I.T.H. stand for?" He spelled it to me, I said its a girls name, he said thats not the answer. So he repeated it, very hopeful that if he spelled it slooooowly I'd come to my senses and tell him what it meant. I didn't. I told Annika to go to Callans page, look at the question, then flip through the story and find it, like a word search (those are fun, right?). Three seconds later she blurts out "Exit Door In The Home". Callan got really mad. I think the big smile and the holy shit! it was a distraction technique so i could finish with gavin undisturbed! reaction got to him. But seriously? She's passing him very quickly in reading comprehension. Really quickly. And the best part was that she did not tease him or gloat. That may have surprised me more, but I've really been hammering home the "you are not a princess and the world does not revolve around you" message. Also, "no one likes bratty little girls...no one".
