If she did mean the "1950's Lounge Singer" then I am indeed flattered. However I believe she was commenting on the fact that I'm not as thin as the people who are considered attractive today are, but who knows.
Well thank you for providing another point of view on the whole comment...I don't know if this makes any sense, but it made the situation better. It's late, so if that doesn't make sense, I'll think of another way to explain it and post it later.
I too like comments... But anyway, you provided the (male) view that it's okay for women to not be walking skeletons. The way I originally interpreted her comment of being "1950's attractive", was basically you would be considered attractive then but not now. Also you added more depth to the statement as well by stating what you thought the meaning was (elegant lounge singer). So thank you.
Eh, well from a womans point of view the whole "it's okay for women to not be walking skeletons" could also be said as well (I personally think it's gross to be that skinny, it looks like their unhealthy...same thing I would say with people who are eating themselves away)..So I prefer neither extreme, it's better to be in between...I never really thought the attractiveness of weight mattered in the 1950's...maybe more of the style!...well anyway...just a thought...I still love the 1950's
