Sorry I've been largely missing lately. Been up to a lot...so I'm gonna make a list-type entry to cover it all.
*Term ended last week at work. Since these photos don't show company name stuff they can be publicly posted. ^_^
Aren't they cute?
And the adults, although this is only half the class. You can see my smokin' awesome tie in there too (Thanks *DL*!).
On the last day one of my classes made Play Doh. Oh boy. But the staff said I was really good at it (usually it turns to slime). The blue starfish is mine. Yes, we made that Play Doh.
* I'm now 25. Birthday was Thursday. Spent much of that time a bit intox. It's what happens, right?
* Last Sunday I had a run-in with a bathtub. This is the bruise on my thigh this morning after my shower (a week and a day later). There are several all over my body (arms, legs, back, head) but this is the most visible. It's actually a bit darker than this photo lets on. I also got a little mosquito bite, which became not so little as usual.
* Had training on Tuesday that finished before my usual end of shift so before meeting my kaiten sushi buddies for our last hurrah I went with *J* to the arcades in Shinjuku. We also went to a guitar shop, where I drooled puddles in the Martin room. Managed to win a black Love Bunny with a sakura on its ear. Wanted one of these SOOOOO badly.
And then we failed at taking a photo with us together.
A lot.
* Went out with my girl *M* for some birthday celebrations Saturday. We first went to see
The Life Before Her Eyes. I know it's a 2007/2008 film, but it just came out in Japan last month. Awesome film. Then we went to an American sushi restaurant for dinner, then Muse in Roppongi for dancing until 5am. After that we got McDonald's breakfast and crashed. Good thing I took that Sunday off work. ^_^;
Progressively more intox as they go... ^_^;
* After waking up and meandering around I decided to do some hanami, since it's a huge deal. Strangely wasn't hungover...I must be magic.
Some random corner in Shinjuku on my way to the park.
And the park.
* Someone said I have long legs sometime in the past week. Don't remember when since it's been a haze... But long legs I have not, LoL.
* In one of my classes I made my students write a progressive story...that's where we each take turns writing a sentence. Keep in mind they're studying English. I wrote the first sentence and there were four students, so you can figure out which ones were mine...
Once upon a time, there was a pink unicorn. He was 100 years old. He had no friends. So he'd been looking for a friend. He went to town to look for a friend. First he went up to a purple penguin and asked, "Will you be my friend?" The purple penguin said, "Why should I be your friend?" "Because you are so cute," he answered. The unicorn decided to look for another friend. He met a dog on the street. The dog looked friendly so the unicorn asked the dog if he liked coffee. The dog answered he liked coffee, so they went to Starbucks in Tokyo. The unicorn talked about his history with the dog while having coffee. Then the dog pointed behind the unicorn. When the unicorn turned around, he saw a policeman. Apparently the dog was in trouble so he had to go, but the unicorn was happy to have had coffee with a friend. (THE END)
Gotta admit that's fabulous. These are adult students, by the way...I chose the silly topic on purpose. I'm such an evil teacher. ^_^
* I've been out so much tonight will be the third night in...about 10 days that I've slept in my bed. And my flatmate didn't notice I've been gone. What?
* A cute Chinese (Chinese-Canadian...but that's not the point, right?) boy gave me birthday cake Wednesday. He went out during his break at work in the rain to find it for me. He remembered I love sakura chiffon cake and that I'd been sad in my general inability to find real cheesecake. Then after work he ran in the rain to give it to me. No doubt that was the cause of him getting sick afterwards too.
Behold, my birthday cake!
I later went and bought some cake for my flatmate but it's still in the fridge. When I go to wash my curry bowl after posting this I'm gonna tell her to eat it...and if she doesn't I'm gonna eat it.
* My actual birthday was fabulous. Woke up to a very nice start, then wandered into Ikebukuro. *D* was his usual sweet(ish) self and gave me a bottle of Bailey's and accompanied me for dinner. Then he, *S*, *E*, and *R* each bought me a drink (or two), while we heard about *A*'s moving woes. At the end of the night I was too...gone to have stayed awake for the whole train ride so I opted to stay in Otsuka instead of missing my train and ending up in...Ogawamachi or the like.
* Many other people took me out over the course of the last week and a half, including my students. I appreciate them all, but since this is a bulleted list, I'll just cover the rest with a blanket THANK YOU SO MUCH THIS WAS AN AWESOME BIRTHDAY!!!! and then head to bed. Early morning, with training and stuff. Night all. ^_^;
