I've been incredibly busy this summer.
Right after Japan i started family medicine preceptorship, then right after that pre-entry started. I have a lot of hopes for the incoming class. The 26 students in pre-entry were all really cool people. I enjoyed tutoring them and it sounds like they enjoyed me too. They are all friends now too.
Since pre-entry ended i've been pretty much everyday working on something retreat related. Not to mention i made a hideous poster for APAMSA's recruitment table for the incoming class' orientation tomorrow. Anyway, it's my fault for putting too much on my plate. I am in the A/V committee, helping out with sound. I'm in two dances that will be live on stage, Single Ladies and Jai Ho. both of which i have down, but going to skit run through rehearsals is time consuming. But i have to be there anyway for A/V committee. I'm also going to be helping with the "advisory sessions" where i get to talk about my year and how i dealt with it. I'm probably not the best person for that. All i remember is busting my ass for blocks, a lot of drinking and going out, and i think i've mentally blocked out the rest. In retrospect the year was actually fun. I did so much better than i expected without the effort i expected to have to put in.
My point is, that i'm busy. But it's worth it, because it's a lot of fun. I hope retreat is hilarious and memorable for us and the incoming class.
I finished all three seasons of Avatar: the last airbender in like a week or two. Ha. It's really good. I forgot how infinitely superior American animation is to the crap Japan poops out. Not that Japan is any less creative. Just much much cheaper production value for animation. And I appreciate how American animators animate after the voice has been recorded, so the speech matches the mouth! Amazing!
