What can I say?
What can i say about SXSW that hasn't been burned into memory, tweeted, photographed, souvenired and facebooked?
Very little i'd say. Day one I watched a few of the bands: Honey Sac, Dirty Old Men, SpartaLocals. After that the bands started to be less awesome and i went to the bar to hang out/ let my stapedius muscle rest for a bit. Bumped into the lead singer of Dirty Old Men whom i thought was cute on stage and was even cuter in person. Spent the rest of the night chatting with him, drinking, got him to sign some stuff.
Hung out with Manda the next day. We went to Trudy's for some yummy margeritas and to catch up on stuff. Also went to Momoko's for old time's sake. *poke* scarreddragon. Met back up with alan and chilled at some sports bar till Elysium opened. I was all reved up for stereopony. I actually bumped into them in the bathroom first. Haha awkward. So they were awesome. I have a picture of the line up. Knew a good chunk of the songs, there were some new ones. I was up front by Nohana's feet singing out all the songs, which grabbed the attention of rthe lady next to me. Wehn Shiho threw her drumsticks into the crowd, The lady next to me caught it, and gave it to me since i was such a big fan. Got some stereopony merch and Aimi and Nohana signed it, and my stick. Spent the rest of the night drinking with Nobu and Takumi from Dirty, and Katsumi from Honey Sac. Katsumi and I talked about music and we parapara'd together. :awesome: Met Mai, Leena and Jasmine, some rando girls we met had bet nobu and takumi previously apparently. Takumi asked Jasmine to marry her (somehow... considering they can't communicate) and they made out all night. Hilarious. You can't make that shit up.
Intermural softball (we are 0-4 and in the playoffs! Just for showing up!). Blocks. APAMSA peking duck dinner. I'm the new VP! And block party. It was fun cuz i got crunk, but I showed up too late and it ended too early. Went to house of pies after, but i wasn't feeling so hot after the Tequila shot that Jingyi bought me.
As a con, it was intensely lame. The dealer's room had like 5 tables. Of crap. And it was small. And i burnt my Haruhi costume trying to iron it. was v. upset. (see twitter) But it was fun to see tomo and meet Nabeshin and Haruka-san (the writer for the Yamato Nadeshiko anime). Met Yuri from m.o.v.e. but she was kind of scared of us. Later that night andrew found some guy who knew andrew from somewhere, but we are convinced that he had the wrong andrew. But he was high up in the convention heirarchy, so andrew asked him to get us a suite and we invited all the con guests to show up and drink. It was pretty fucking ridiculous. Tomo, Naoki, Nori were there. Nabeshin and Haruka-san got in fights, some black guy kept lifting up girls off the ground. And Motsu-san from m.o.v.e. is an incredibly cool guy. He freaking is good friends with Owatari Ryo. wtf!
They all went to eat today at Lupe Tortillas and i stopped by for a while to say bye. Yuri-san seemed much nicer (i guess not wearing the Haruhi cosplay helped) and Motsu-san gave me his email. All in all so cool! I got a ton of cool pictures and videos
