My personal review on Kaze no Stigma

... cuz I know that someone's waiting for it.

I want another episode for a definitive answer of a yes or no.
I wish i had a better quality version of the episode. The blurriness was really distracting. Shinsen-subs version is a little better quality than T2. But i've definitely been spoiled by all the recent HD anime encodes.
I'll start easy.

Animation Studio: Gonzo

Music:0
Opening Theme was "Blast of Wind" by Saori Kuji. It's really bad.
Ending theme was "Hitorikiri no Sora" by Saori Kiuji. It's a little better. But blah.

Animation:****
Four stars. Which is good. The battle scenes were animated properly. In my opinion, animation of magic powers like wind and fire has typically always been less than satisfactory. You could never really get a glimpse of what was going on, just a bunch of crap swirling around.
This is not the case in Kaze no Stigma. The battle sequences were smooth, easy to follow, and you really got a grasp of everyone's magic abilities.

Characters: ***
Ugggghhhhh Shana Ayano, the girl with the flame sword, is REALLY tsundere. She trips and falls while fighting a giant spider. And there's a panty shot or two thrown in.
She's hot headed and arrogant about her fighting ability. And she's got an attack now ask questions later mentality.

But! The other main character Kazuma, is GAR. He's OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAND times more powerful than any other introduced character as of yet and he always keeps his cool (except for one short flashback sequence from when he was younger) in the face of relentless antagonizing.

Character Design: ***
Nothing spectuacular here.

Plot:****
I like the plot. But again, i like magic powers.
The Kannagi clan is a family that has been blessed with the powers of the Honou no Seirei (flame spirit). Every generation has a successor and successor is Kannagi Shana Ayano.
Kannagi Kazuma was in the kannagi clan, but his inability to use fire got him cast out. He's back now as Yagami Light Kazuma, and uses the power of the Kaze no Seirei (Wind spirit). The members of the clan recognize him and make fun of him for his weakness. But he shows them that he's OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAND times stronger then they are.
Kazuma and Ayano are cousins. And back in the day had to fight for successor status. Ayano won, and Kazuma was kicked out that very day for his weakness. Ayano too was picking on him for his weakness too. She's close with Kazuma's little brother so there's a little dichotomy there between making fun of him and not hurting his little brother's feelings.
Anyway, someone possessing the power of wind killed some of the Kannagi clansmen. Everyone suspects Kazuma. We learn later that someone's manipulating behind the shadows, but Kazuma is set up and Ayano is PISSED.

So it's not like shana. The plot seems a little shallow though. Just a rivalry between two people. One is obviously really strong and the other has lots of room for improvement. Neither character has the dominant role right now and we have an omniscient look into both of their affairs. so in that respect there are two main characters.
Although, who knows if the two will team up against the real guy who's killing the Kannagi. Judging by Kazuma's character, hes gonna go at it lone wolf style.
