I've been crazy busy since about the start of this month - between finishing school, and now gearing up for Star Wars Episode 3, it's been hectic. If you didn't know already, I'm part of a Star Wars costuming club ::pause for laughter:: and since Star Wars is such a huge merchandising venture and everyone wants some $$$ we've been busy all month promoting star wars, meeting fans, getting costumes ready for the big day, which is May 18th at 12:01 for us hardcore fans, and May 19th for those that actually have lives. So my calendar has been booked.
Thursday was spent with Lindsey up in Charlottesville hanging out with her, seeing where she lived and grew up, went to see Kingdom of Heaven, and stayed the night up there.
Friday I come home about 4pm, and decided that since some of the troopers were over at CompUSA since they had asked us to show up for their "STAR WARS SALE" I thought I'd drop by, without a costume, b/c it was in Newport News. So I was there from about 5 until 10 pm, and then we left to go see
The Empire Rocks Back which was hilarious. Then getting done about 1 am or so, decided to drive the hour back to Newport News, because I had to be in Portsmouth at 8 AM for a "Star Wars BlockParty" that we had been asked to show up for, in costume. So making it back to my apartment at 2am, gave me just enough sleep to wake up at 6, to be out the door by 7, to be there at 8. The party was a blast and it was nice to make the kid's day. That ended at 10pm, so I'd been up for over 14 hours, after getting almost no sleep. So I then make it back to my apartment, and try to stay up for a bit, but end up passed out by about 1 am or so.
And this isn't the end of the events, I'm probably going to be in the Hampton area for a charity preview of Star Wars EP3 on the 17th, and then head up to Richmond for the midnight showing on the 18th, then on the 21st we'll be back in the area at the Pembrook mall for another screening. So needless to say, I'll be a busy stormtrooper bee until about the end of May. But I'm not complaining one bit, b/c I love Star Wars, and this new movie is going to be GREAT, and I'm loving all the attention and press Star Wars is getting.
For those of you in Richmond, check the Times-Dispatch "flair or artsy" section on the 17th, there should be an article about one of our troopers, and I did a phone interview as well.
