The Halfway Point

Yesterday was the end of A term/finals day...I'm officially halfway to departure day (aka d-day)! The first quarter of classes went well as I had an especially good french TA. Thus far, I've studied french with an American, an Irish woman, a Turk, a guy who spoke Quebecois, a Parisian, someone from southern France, and a Romanian woman. Wonder what accent I'll have... I doubt it'll matter, as it will be mere frosting on the cake of my thick American accent. Speaking of such things, I had a bit of a revelation today. While in the past I've been able to hear my TA's accents (Parisian vs. Southern France is like Washington vs. Georgia), today I actually noticed a difference in how I understood my new Parisian TA as opposed to my Romanian TA from last quarter. It probably sounds silly, but I was pretty excited to be able to hear the difference as opposed to noticing a difference. Je suis si heureuse!
Not much else is going on. Lots of catching up on sleep, hopefully, and revising my eugenics senior thesis. I'd like to use it as a writing sample, but there is still some work to be done. Hooray for sunshine, friends, and beach volleyball!
Oh, and one last update! So, Neea and Nina and I have decided that camping is in order for our time in the Netherlands. :-) After the girls leave to go home, I'll go back with Nina to her home in GERMANY!!! So happy about this! Next time, Neea, I'll have to make a trip up to Scandinavia and pay you a visit as well!
