Wow, have I ever told you people how much I hate the "trap" in hockey? For those of you who don't know hockey, the trap is when you basically put all your players in the neutral zone, with one applying pressure to the other team, while the other 4 sit back and basically stand on the line. Basically, it's the cowards way of playing hockey. Because it is VERY hard to beat the trap, because 4 or 5 guys covering a line means little place to skate through, so you have to dump the puck in and chase it.

Canada, has just lost its second game in the Olympics, twice in a row, twice against teams that only use the trap. To me, we didn't lose to those teams, we lost to the trap. And honestly, I'm disgusted teams would even considering using the trap in Olympic hockey, it is a disgrace to the game. Many of the game's greats have spoken out against the play, saying it detracts from what hockey really is. But apparently the Europeans have no problem using it, knowing if they didn't, they'd never be able to stand up against the North American teams. Neither the USA or Canada will ever use the trap, they think its the worst play in hockey, but the Europeans aren't the same level as the NA teams, they can't compete at our level without using the trap.

I so can't wait til we play them again though, and we kick their ass regardless of the trap...then again, we also need unbiased refs that allow us to play our game, a hitting game. Somehow, a Canadian player can't even blow in a European's direction without getting a penalty. I don't know how many times I watched one of our players getting hooked, held and interfered with infront of the net so that he couldn't take the pass, and the ref just ignored it. But if we even grazed their player infront of our net, it would be a penalty.

Anyways, enough about the Olympics. I have a game later, in 3hours actually. It, is going to be ugly. We played this team last game, won 9-3, but it got ugly. The other team got over 40 penalty minutes, we got 30. One of our guys got speared in the throat and the ref didn't call anything on it, meanwhile he was watching it from 3feet away, the linesman made the call from the OTHER side of the ice, but from his distance, could only see it as a highstick, he didn't see it hit his throat like it did. One of our players got suspended for fighting, when he didn't even throw a punch. So this game, shall be ugly. The guy that got speared in the throat is going to kill the guy that did it. The guy that got speared, is like 6'2, the guy that speared him, is like 5'6. He is going to be dead...And then there is me. I've got a bad history with this team lol. Last time I played them, I ended up smashing one of their players with a beautiful hit, flattened him nicely...yet I got a penalty for interference. Still haven't quite figured out how the referee gave me the penalty, since I was returning to my net after playing the puck, and he cut inside of me and I knocked him over, apparently it is because I raised my arms. But I'm sorry, when a guy is skating full force at me, would you prefer me to just stand there and not defend myself? Oye, it is definitly going to be interesting.

Oh, and shout out to Kaji, know you read my LJ, yet have me blocked on AIM...quite intriguing, block me one place, following me with others...interesting.

There was something else I wanted to say, but now I've forgotten it. Ah well, if I remember it, I'll put it up later lol.
