Well, I just realized I never wrote anything permanent about my UC Gundam characters. Shame on me. =0 So here I go!
MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM: THE 87TH MS TEAM
LIRA PHONO
14 years old and pilot of the powerful Mars Gundam. Lives on the small Side 3 colony Tooele, which refused to join Zeon when it formed. When Degwin Zabi established the Principality of Zeon, when Lira was 4 years old, her spacenoid father, a semi-retired fighter pilot, immediately took a liking to the new leader and left Lira's earthnoid mother, who still supported the Earth Federation, to fight for Zabi's cause, leaving her to take care of Lira. This led to a lonely childhood for Lira, as her mother was always busy working and she didn't have many friends because of her plucky, headstrong personality. As she entered her teens, she became insanely boy-crazy because of lack of male attention at home, but none of the boys wanted to be around her. In her last year of junior high, the One Year War broke out, and the leaders of Tooele learned that their colony was on Zeon's "hit list," so they sent a desperate plea for help to the Earth Federation, who was so swamped with the war that the only help they could offer (or maybe even wanted to offer) was the 87th MS Team, a crack team of all females who traveled to the colony bringing their two "homemade" Mobile Suits. However, they encountered a problem--the member of the team who was originally supposed to pilot the high-performance Mars Gundam turned out to not be a very good pilot at all, so the team held an open recruitment for a pilot--well, as open as you can get it without causing mass hysteria by informing an entire colony of the very real possibility of a Zeon assault. When Lira learned of the recruitment campaign, she immediately signed up for testing, hoping that by being a pilot, she would finally get some attention, and maybe even meet a cute boy pilot. What she didn't know was that the team was actually looking for a Newtype to fill the seat of Mars Gundam, and Lira, although she doesn't know it, is a Newtype. When the team tested her, they said "That's our girl," and immediately hired her. Now, faced with piloting a massive mechanical weapon that's her home's last hope for survival, discovering mysterious powers within her, befriending the mysterious new boy at school, and making a personal enemy in an elite Zeon Newtype pilot who refuses to give his name, Lira will become a hero of the One Year War, along with the rest of the 87th MS Team! =0
MEGUMI AI
Built to resemble a 14-year-old physically, Meg is the result of years of android research in a remote Federation laboratory. Years ago, the team was charged with developing a new line of artificial fighter pilots, of which Meg was to be the prototype. They created her to look young so that she would fit into the cockpit better. However, one day, a severe problem occured. One of her developers, an eccentric visionary, fell madly in love with her and secretly programmed human emotions into her, in the hopes that when development was finished he could marry her. When she was activated and this flaw was discovered, the man was fired and she was scheduled to be destroyed, as the man encrypted the programming so well that no one could hack into it to erase it. But, a young woman researcher rescued Meg and brought her to live with the researcher and her two friends. When the researcher built Gundam Grace, a speedy MS, Meg was unanimously chosen as the pilot, and she remains so throughout the story. When she came to Tooele with the rest of the team, she was enrolled in the junior high to gather intelligence and monitor civilian knowledge of the Zeon attacks, with the provision that she must never reveal her mechanical origins. Although Meg has human emotions, she is still learning to use them properly, and sometimes chooses not to use them at all, making her come off as cold and mysterious. The popular group at Tooele's junior high loves Meg's aloof personality and made her one of them. This immediately set her at odds with the firey Lira. The two bicker a lot and don't get along well, but they're always there for each other in battle. She immensely dislikes Sedge Laillot, the mysterious new boy at school, not just because the rest of the popular group doesn't like him, but because she thinks he's horribly suspicious from a military perspective. She often takes on the role of bossy big sister to Lira because she's both taller and older, much to Lira's chagrin.
TESSERACT JONAST
The 14-year-old mechanical genius of the team. Orphaned during Zabi's purge of Zeon's followers, she was discovered and taken in by a young woman military researcher and raised as her own child, with extensive training in mechanics and repair. By the time of the One Year War, Tess was a full-fledged member of the team, although her mechanical skills were far better than her piloting skills. She even helped her foster mother build two high-performance Mobile Suits, Mars Gundam and Gundam Grace. She doesn't associate much with Lira or Meg and tends to group herself with the commanders, her foster mother being especially dear to her. Unlike Lira, who lives on Tooele, and Meg, who attends school for military intelligence, Tess stays at the base, repairing and upgrading the MS. She's lighthearted and playful, and can frequently be seen climbing around the Gundams and talking to them. Other than that, she mostly keeps out of the way.
KATYVY SIBER
33-year-old commanding officer and leader of the 87th MS Team. She and her two best friends went through the Federation's military school together and formed their own small military squadron consisting of themselves and an android named Megumi Ai. Later, they were joined by the war orphan Tesseract and two custom-built mobile suits called Gundams. Katyvy is the brawns of the team, having the military connections and strategic knowhow to pull just about anything off in battle or otherwise. She is very thoughtful and serious, but kindhearted.
MARGARET JONAST
33-year-old technical engineer of the 87th MS Team and one of Katyvy's best friends. A rather short, comical woman with eyes always hidden behind large glasses, Marge is very enthusiastic and can often be found jumping around yelling about something. She also loves children, as evidenced by her rescuing the defective child android Megumi Ai in her last year of military school, and adopting the orphaned Tesseract a year later. She also studied under a certain mobile suit designer named Tem Ray, who shared with her the schematics of the advanced Mobile Suit he was designing called Gundam. She began to formulate the designs for two "Gundams" of her own, which saw the light of day years later with the help of Tess. Marge is the brains of the team, constantly looking after the upkeep of the team's vehicles and coming up with solutions to technical problems.
LILIA MREYES
Although Lilia is 33, she looks much younger because she obsesses over keeping herself looking as youthful as possible. She acts very cutesey and uses cute expressions in her speech. She also loves shopping. Because of her sociable personality, she's the 87th MS Team's civilian support, which basically means acting cute and charismatic to keep the residents of Tooele upbeat even in the darkest times. It may have been pure charisma and the support of her two friends that got her through military school, since she doesn't seem to have any actual strategic or mechanical skills. She does, however, posess an unyielding will that allows her to get through any situation.
SEDGE LAILLOT
14 years old. Appeared mysteriously one day at Tooele Junior High as a new student. Because of his peculiar manner of dress (sort of a grunge look) and anti-social personality, most of the kids stay away from him, but he and Lira become fast friends, and possibly more. They are also mutually attracted because they are both Newtypes. In reality, however, Sedge is a Zeon spy working under the command of a mysterious elite pilot in charge of the attack on Tooele. As Sedge's feelings grow stronger, will he be able to abandon his cause to protect the girl he loves?
I might put pictures up later.
