Can someone PLEASE tell me what Rose said to Donna when Donna asked her who she was in the trailer? Out of all the bits they showed us for some reason that part bothers me the most. Stupid saying stuff quickly and mumbling it. Also, that looked an awful lot like a bug on Donna's back. I do not like bugs. Not so worried about Dead!Doctor. I'm quite sure he will not stay dead, as it is probably an alternate reality thinger (much like the "Smallville" where Clark never existed but shows up anyway 'cause he's inconvenient like that).
Also, I liked "Midnight" for the most part. Some bits dragged (mostly when everyone was freaking the hell out) but it was still enjoyable. That whole mimicking thing was very creepy. Despite my annoyances at RTD, I do think he's a good writer. I liked the characters (props to the mechanic and pilot, who were only on screen for a few seconds-- they wanted to know what the outside looked like, too, even if it was not a good idea! And they were smart and sent out a distress signal right away). It was, as others have said, an interesting take on how humans can be the real monsters. I like when a book or show makes you look at the world around you somewhat differently. I don't know whether it was Buffy or a book that had vampires in it but the vampire character said that vampires would not be so cruel if it weren't for their humanness. God knows we can be horrible to each other. That's what I got out of the episode, anyway.
Let's also note the mentions of the Doctor's name, the Medusa Cascade, the Doctor naming his most recent companions (not including Jack, Mickey or Adam), unexpected!Rose (I had been hoping she was yelling "Donna" last time but I think it was "Doctor" both times), references to a missing Moon, etc. I'm sure there was more stuff that I didn't pick up on but I don't exactly watch hoping to find clues (though it's fun when you notice them).
I'm hungry.
ETA: Every time I see John McCain I can't help but think "He looks an awful lot like
Saul Tigh from Battlestar Galactica." I know this has already been mentioned on the internet. Felt like reiterating.
