Happy Fangirl

I went with the parents to see Jonathan Coulton and Paul and Storm at Milkboy tonight. Cara met up with us there and we snuck her into the reserved seating (front row!) for the show. It was AWESOME!!!! Paul and Storm were fantastic, as usual, and when they needed us to "Arr!" like pirates we were apparently so good that they kept saying "Now a dejected Arr!" or "William Shatner Arr!" The show was recorded, too, so it will possibly be edited and sold later. They also had this "contest" where if you signed up for the mailing list, they would pick a number at random and whoever signed on that numbered line won. And guess who won? That's right. Me. I won a free CD and some candy corn. While I did previously buy the CD that I won it's still pretty damn cool. Plus, I think I got that CD for Jeff. Jonathan Coulton was wonderful. And when I got him to sign my sketchbook he recognized me! My inner fangirl is still overly excited about that. The exchange was something like this:

JoCo: Hey, I've seen you before. not word for word here
Me: Yeah.
JoCo: You were here last time.
Me: Actually, it was in New York at The Cutting Room.
JoCo: And you were with a group of friends.
Me: Well, I was with one friend but standing with a bunch of people.
JoCo: And you were this tall *holding his hand about a foot taller than me*
Me: And I was a man.

Still...he recognized me. Sort of. Either way it's some sort of recognition and I'm impressed that he remembers people at all. Paul and Storm certainly don't. I love 'em anyway. This is just another reason why JoCo is so lovable.

Cara and I split a page of my sketchbook to get signed. He drew a dotted line an inch or so down and wrote "Top 20% for me", then for Cara "Cara: This is 4 U!" and for me "Adrienne: Viva la France!" This last thing is because he realized that my name is spelled the French way (which is the conversation we pretty much had the first time I had him sign something but this time I wasn't unintentionally rude about him pronouncing my name slightly wrong by saying "Sure" with disdain--something I didn't realize but he pointed out amusedly). So yeah, I'm kind of in fangirl heaven at the moment.

*sigh*
