it's a good thing i renewed my lease.
there are still some spots with the pink primer showing because i couldn't wait to set up the room again. i don't think i'll ever cover them up, even though the walls look like a demented valentine. i've come to love it that way, strangely enough.
i'm also a subscriber to cook's illustrated magazine.
in other news: i'm on sautee at work, and i was offered a new position too, one that takes on some kitchen management duties. maybe then i can quit the receptionist gig and spend 14 hours at the restaurant. tough decision. apparently komi was nominated as best new restaurant in dc, along with some other awards for the 'restaurant grammies'. the way i see it: free publicity. maybe from now on more people will come eat and the place will actually make some money...
my hair is shoulder length and i'm committed this time to growing it back out to the hip.
ron found out my number from the umich directory and called me out of the blue, after 4 years of no contact, to see how i was doing. then he mentioned that in the subsequent conversations which he says will occur, he wants to settle some unresolved issues. does anyone ever get the sense that time gets stuck on some people and they fragment out the days while other people move on?
mike is back in boston. maybe i can visit him soon. it's been so long since i've seen him.
i'm going to be home at the end of may to move stuff out of the condo and grab my car. most importantly though, both justin and cindy will be home and we are going to hang out! i'm going to make food for them. i hope to see friends too when i'm home.
