my first college english literature essay: b+. i fucked it up. quotes from my t.a.:
"sheryl crow is not a recognized authority on scripture or poetry."
"your writing style is interesting, unusual, and enthusiastic. i very much enjoyed reading it. but if you want higher grades, you need to make some serious adjustments."
"DO NOT START GENERAL AND GET SPECIFIC. START SPECIFIC AND GET MORE SPECIFIC."
"irony has no place in a formal essay. i understand that your use of the cliche 'the grass is always greener' is not a serious point, but not only will many not understand it, but some will dock you points for use of such an obvious phrase."
"i'm a fucking tool."
in conclusion, i have to revamp my highly stylized and unprofessional writing style that took my years to create, and become a fucking tool like the tools that assign me grades that determine my future. so i'll do it until i get to the point where i can do whatever i want- of course, by that time, i'll be an english major with no prospects for earning any money whatsoever, and will be reduced to selling my teeth on the street for change. yay for education.
ps: slightly drunk.
