An update on the Golem

Apr 05, 2005 21:28

The Golem, Now nameless, Walked Slowly and Carefully down the Streets of Elexia. The streets were Uneven, and he had never tried Walking and Thinking at the Same time before. He had many Serious Questions to Ponder.

'All things in this World fall into one Category,' The Golem Thought - 'The Group of things that are True. Things that are Real. Things that are not false. Things that can be Counted upon to be what they are.

Only People, intelligent ones, Could invent anything that was not True. Things that are Untrue. Falsities. Things that cannot be Trusted.

What does this mean? Could I tell a Lie if I wanted to? If I can't, would that mean I am not a Person, as Mizerta Said I am not? If a Persons Word was not always trustworthy, Maybe I should Determine how Trustworthy Mizerta's Words were before I believe in them.

What was Something untrue I could say To prove I can or Cannot Lie?'

"I am made of Metal." He said. 'Wait, that was True.' "I am NOT Made of Metal." 'Better. So, I just said two things that are Exactly opposite. Obviously, one of them must not be True. So, I can tell lies.

...Is this a good thing, or a Bad Thing? Does this make me a Person? Or does it simply mean I will Mislead others, as Mizerta Mislead me?'

The Golem, Nameless since he had shirked off the name he had been given, had some difficult Ponderances. As The Golem continued, he came across a Church. He stopped, to look at the Architecture.

'The Church of the Unfailing Light. The name is Misleading. No thing can be Unfailing. They would be Best Served to rename their Church the Church of the Not Often Failing Light. Or The Church of the Almost Never Failing Light. Or The Church of the Light that can be Depended upon in most cases, but is not 100% Unfailing.'

The Golem heard some Noises coming from the Side of the Church, and moved to investigate. A Bunch of Kids had found Hammers somewhere, and were applying them judiciously on a Slab that Lay near the Church Wall. The nearest one saw the Golem, and Started in Fright.

"Paladin! Ditch!"

All four of the Boys dropped their hammers and ran away from the Golem. He had no desire to pursue them. Instead, he looked at what they had been Defiling. It was largely Illegible now, and was Cracked up and down. However, on Line near the Very Center was Readable.

"V. Honor thy Father and thy Mother."

The Golem was Contemplating this, and so didn't notice the Church doors burst open, or the other Person running around to the Side of the Church. He did notice the Large intake of Air, and looked up.

The PErson who had found him could be Described as one of the most Beautiful Women in the Eastern World. She Was Perfectly Proportioned, Exactly Six Feet Tall, and her Hair never Moved, as though it had been placed just the way it was for a Reason. If one didn't know any better, they'd say she had been planned that way. Of course, everyone knew Better; This woman was obviously Made of Marble.

Dharma was my Second Masterpeice. I was so Proud of her. She showed all those Doubters that, Yes, I was great enough to pull it off Twice. Of course she meant much more to me than Just that, but of course I couldn't let her know that. I was too much of a fool to remember that she WAS Alive, and that came with Feelings. And a Personality that wasn't Identical to my own. Oh, if I had it all to do again ...

I'll end it here for now because I'm bored of Writing it.
