Oh no, spoilers! I'm still watching season 8 (embarrassing, I know, but I'm having a really difficult time with it for some reason :/) and trying to avoid spoilers from seasons 9 and 10. That's why I haven't read your posts about those seasons or commented on them, if you have wondered.
Luckily, I had already encountered Demon!Dean because I read Misha's twitter. So no serious harm done. :)
Season 8 is very hard to watch in some ways - especially the first few episodes. Season 9 may be worse... :( But I am really enjoying Season 10 so far! There is a light at the end of the tunnel ;P
I have five episodes left. I have never before had these kinds of problems with watching Supernatural. :( Usually I can't wait to see the new season and can hardly take any breaks as I'm so eager to find out how things progress, but with season 8 I have felt indifferent and more enthusiastic to watch the previous seasons. I think the reason is that at least the first half of season 8 is pretty messy. There are numerous plot lines but they don't seem to go anywhere and the episodes don't really connect with each other, which makes everything feel pointless. Also, I think that there are too many episodes that feel like fillers and too few episodes that have a clear significance to the main plot.
Sorry for venting like this. :/ All aforementioned is just my opinion, and it may change later. I'm just a bit frustrated with season 8 at the moment. -.-
The first half is pretty messy. It was a hard bunch of eps for most people I think. I had to rewatch the season to try to figure everything out:P
So, next is Taxi Driver? I've looked at the last five eps and it looks like you will be getting back on track with the main plot - the Trials. I enjoyed Taxi Driver for various reasons. Hope you enjoy it too :)

Yes, it's. Glad to hear that the main plot will progress. ^^ I didn't like Freaks and Geeks much since it felt like a filler, once again, and the teenagers were pretty annoying.
I know. :) I was just worried about being too negative. Most Supernatural fans seem to love season 8, and I feel a bit quilty about the fact that I haven't seen its brilliance, at least not yet.
Well, it's easier to love once you've seen it to the end. As I said earlier, I had to rewatch it at least 3 or 4 times before I could see it as "good." And there are still some eps I really don't want to even think about because it's just too painful.
You might be interested in some reviews on those as they aired. I like to read ones by hells-half-acre (HERE is the tag page for the first of the Season 8 reviews) and by gaelicspirit (the master post with links to the various reviews is HERE
You'll be able to see not only what they thought as they viewed the eps but it should be interesting to read some of the comments there as well (mine would inevitably be there as well :P)
They are both written as the eps were aired, so no spoilers. Hells-half-acre also does rewatch reviews and she's up to Season 9 on those too so once you're finished watching the seasons, those are also interesting to read.
