Outlander

I finally got to see the new TV show Outlander this weekend. Two episodes in a row so I'm all caught up. And since I told wings128 that I would tell her what I thought of the episode, and I got a few pics, I thought I'd post.

Outlander is the first of the book series by Diana Gabaldon, a series I recommend to any woman with a soft spot for Scottish Highland men(drool), strong women, history, adventure, passionate love, a tad of the mystical, sarcasm and an awesome sense of humor. I mean, this book has it all. And it is so well written, my god.

But, if you are too busy to read that first thick volume then I'd definitely recommend the new TV series that just started last week. The characters are true to the original and Jamie our Scottish dandy is VERY cute and totally fits the part for me - which is pretty amazing. Claire, our strong-willed woman, is also beautiful and I am coming to love what the actress is doing with her part.

What I love is being able to see all the places that I read about in the books. The scenery is awesome and it's neat to actually see all of those places I only imagined while reading.  The only very minor disappointment was that Black Jack Randall was less handsome than Frank... which you'll only understand if you read or watch the show.

I'm definitely looking forward to the next episode.

The castle in modern times...

Frank is not particularly exciting - but Claire's lived with her uncle her whole childhood - she is familiar and comfortable with Frank's ways and loves him.

Claire picking flowers/plants wherever she goes♡ In the book I think she had a book of dried flowers...(maybe that's later   :P)

Claire and Frank check out the druids♡ Frank was the one that wanted to go, but Claire probably enjoyed it more...

The forget-me-nots: so symbolic!!  Right after this she touches one of the stones and is transported in time.

One of my favorite scenes in the book ♡

beautiful scenery again of the castle and village♡

Another of my favorite scenes - of course in the show we are distracted by the nice body but in the book I think an important point was that Claire did not draw away when she saw his scars.  His story also is of course important and touching.

gulp! My god. Can't wait for the wedding♡
