1. What is your favorite childhood memory?
I don't really have just one. Walking along the train tracks to kindergarten, being chosen to play the small drum for my kindergarten graduation concert; the smells coming from the school kitchen before lunch, climbing the monkey bars, watching the sun's rays shining through the clouds while sitting with a friend on the podium at our playground.
2. If you could be reincarnated as anything besides human, who would you want to be?
A cat.
3. If you had to start your life all over, what are three things you would change?
I would get an education degree. I can't think of anything else.
4. If you had to forget everything in your life, except one thing, what would it be?
Like amnesia? So I have everything, I just don't remember them? My relationship with my kids - and if I can only remember one, my daughter.
I have a terrible memory, so I don't remember much of any given thing. Those memories I mentioned earlier are scenes I remember like movies in my mind but some people my friend(s) say I was friendly with in school I don't remember at all.
5. Do you have a lucky charm?
Yes, but only because hubby gave it to me, not because I remember having it most of the time. It's an omamori he got from a temple on New Years.
Yay. Saturday is a holiday and I will be taking the dog out for her walk instead of working. We will also be going out to the sushi restaurant for Audrey's birthday dinner. We haven't been out for dinner since Mother's Day so I am looking forward to that.
This week was pretty good mood-wise. I had enough energy to take on daycare plus 4 hours of teaching in the afternoon on Tuesday and Wednesday. I even prepared for dinner and a birthday cake for Audrey (Tuesday was her birthday) before class. My skin has been sensitive to my clothing recently, though, and I'm frustrated that I don't have anything comfortable to wear. Hubby has a bad cough and has been keeping himself AND me up at night with his coughing, so I haven't gotten enough sleep, and the chest pains have been worse too. So, when Thursday rolled around, I was spent. I couldn't lift my hands to type anything on the computer after classes and lay on the floor to watch Bones for the rest of the night.
I spent all morning doomscrolling this morning and didn't have the mind-power to figure out what to make for dinner and how. I just told the kids to eat pasta with the readymade sauce. At least I got a salad made.
I'm really glad for the day off tomorrow. I want to get some clarinet practice done on the weekend because I couldn't last week.
My usual salad lunch with beets! Christmasy!
Mt. Fuji in the back with a snow top! This was on the way to the Christmas practice last Sunday
