Sense8

Judging from the lack of reaction to my previous post, I am guessing no one is into or watching this show. It's not new but it has been bugging me on my Netflix screen for a while and I gave it a try. I've now finished the two seasons and rewatched all the great scenes - of which there were so many.

The basic plot is very much like the Tomorrow People but the content is much more mature. Lots of swearing, lots of sex - group sex too LOL - and some great humor and heartache too. When I came out of it, I felt that the main idea was condemning self-sacrifice/suicide as a solution and celebrating life/love/music. There were so many cool fight scenes and it included such a variety of people - a man in Kenya, a woman in India, a woman from Iceland, a (transsexual) woman in the USA, a (gay) man in Mexico, a woman in Korea, a man in Germany, and a man in the USA. Each has their own cool talents which they use to fight against an organization that hunts them and their love and care for each other is just beautiful and transcends all differences.

[Spoiler (click to open)]In a way, I was disappointed that none of the group died because it seemed very unrealistic, but the happy ending made me happy.

Also Brian J. Smith is in all of my fantasies at the moment. I found out he actually came out as gay after this show, which is very interesting because one of the characters in the show is actually an actor that comes out.

I have to watch Treadstone.
