Summer is here alright. All the hydrangeas have wilted LOL But I still found some cute little flowers on my walk today. Fruits and vegetables are insanely expensive. It is like we are living through a war... I guess we are in a sense. One normal sized apple is 2.50 dollars when we usually can buy one for 1.00, one big peach is almost 4.00 when we could buy one for 2.00 in past years, yesterday one very airy head of lettuce worth less than 1.00 was 3.00. I couldn't get myself to buy one. We will have to make do with cabbage. It is watermelon season but one smallish watermelon is 10.00.
I was wondering if you all have the same google header as me. It would be nice to see some different ones if you'd like to share.

I heard a squacky chirp of a cicada from above and when I looked up, I saw two shed shells under the leaves of the cherry tree. There's one above -
Both as I saw them -
Today is my last day of vacation. I will be back to work tomorrow, but probably less students due to summer holidays. There was a group of uni students playing baseball in the park, as well as a dad and elementary age boy. School is finally out. Audrey finished the day before yesterday. She has club activities (tennis) though and already has a nice sun burn on her face and body despite taking precautions.
The boy at the park was complaining to this dad that he didn't want to take a shower after they got home. "Can't I just wipe myself with a towel? I don't want to take a shower." I laughed. It's not just my kids, I guess. The dad, typical Japanese, told him, "No, that wouldn't do. You've got to take a shower." Japanese people are super obsessed with cleanliness as is hubby. He insists that we should take showers or a bath at night so we don't take our sweat to bed. He told me the other day that if Audrey falls asleep without taking a shower I should wake her and make her take one. I can totally see his point, but I wasn't brought up quite that strictly (a shower in the morning is fine, unless you´ve done some major exercise) so it's sometimes hard to see why he puts such importance to it. Anyway, Audrey's home and complaining that the room stinks, maybe from my sweat from taking Hana out so... I guess I'm going to take a shower while Audrey adds her stink to the room LOL
