About Back to the Future
This is in answer to wings128's request at the meme here:
Back to the Future I is a movie about a teenager, Marty (played by Michael J. Fox), who accidentally goes back in time in a time machine invented by his friend and scientist Doc Brown (Christopher Allen Lloyd)
and, through his interactions with his parents, is able to change his unhappy family situation and grow personally as well.
In the second movie Marty goes to the future with Doc Brown -
and tries to cheat in his own time through his knowledge of the future. A bully whose past had changed drastically due to Marty’s intervention in the first movie, figures out what Marty is doing and gets back at him by changing the world into one that he wants - full of crime and violence where Marty's family bears the brunt of it. Marty must find the point where the past was changed and fix it to save his family. At the end, Doc Brown gets hit by lightning in the time machine and jumps back to the 1800s. We learn here that it never pays to cheat for financial gain :D
The third is a western in which Marty goes back to save Doc Brown, Doc finds true love and Marty finds his way back to the future, where everything is happy again. I guess the main theme of this whole series is courage to stand up for what you believe is right and not do things just so other people will think well of you. Also, you make your own future. With two major comedy stars in it, this is a comedy. However, it is also packed full of thrill, excitement and also some good morals.
My favorite female character would be Doc's true love, Clara Clayton. I wouldn't have chosen her right at the start. Her looks and her voice and the way she talks are not particularly appealing to me. But she had the cutest and funniest scenes with the two main characters, she loves books (SciFi) and she showed some spunk in the end as well.
I didn't really like the characters Jennifer, Marty's girlfriend, or his mom Lorraine (although I do like Lea Thompson the actor :) ). Jennifer keeps fainting and Lorraine is way too forward for my comfort BUT they are funny, and it's a comedy so that's alright.
My favorite male character is Marty because he is so cute and funny :D
Doc is a close second.
My favorite movie in the series is the first one I think. There were some embarrassing scenes such as Marty’s mom Lorraine coming on to Marty, but most everything about it was perfect from the comedy bits to the exciting ones. I also remember how dynamic and thrilling it was to watch at the movie theatre when it first came out.
The third movie comes in at a close second. I just really enjoy westerns, there were few embarrassing scenes and I enjoyed Michael J. Fox playing a couple different characters :D
The second movie had him playing his old self, his son and his daughter so that was funny but the story itself was not as exciting. It is also uncomfortable because of Marty's decision to cheat, I suppose. That movie is where Marty makes his mistakes and learns a little from them.
My favorite scene is I think the dance floor scene in Movie I.
I loved Marty playing the guitar! I also heard that Michael J. Fox actually played here.
My second best scene is in Movie III where Marty copies Clint Eastwood from one of his westerns.
I really loved when (Supernatural) Dean also changed his name to Clint Eastwood in Frontierland :D
and the other scenes playing homage to this movie series like, for example, Marty meeting his dad in the past.
My favorite cast member is Michael J. Fox who played Marty. I love this guy in all of his shows and movies. Did you know he is actually Canadian? He has had Parkinson’s since he was 29 years old and has been supporting research concerning this disease as well.
My favorite ship - ok, ok, Doc Brown and Clara.
A character I’d die defending - Einstein (the dog)
A character I just can’t sympathize with - Biff the bully. The satisfaction of seeing him with manure all over him!
A character I grew to love - Clara Clayton. Again, I did not particularly like her at the start, but her personality grew on me :D
My anti otp - Biff with anyone.
