Poll SPN 12-17 The British Invasion My thoughts -
The biggest thought at this point... MICK... :'( It's been a few hours since I watched it and I still can't get passed it. Sooooo sad. I was hoping he would help the Winchesters, but now I'm not quite sure what kind of roll he will play in the whole scheme of things. Will his death influence others somehow for the better/greater good? Will ANYONE morn him?? I really really hope they didn't show us his past and him standing up for the Winchester Way, and then just kill him off for no purpose. That would be just bad writing. It's not a dream is it? I mean he's not going to wake up from it, is he...? How stupid is he though. I mean, he knows the CODE and he must know that he is expendable. Why couldn't he just keep his mouth shut and pretend to go along with it, THEN go and run over to the Winchesters? DAMN IT!
So, now that's out of my system (still hoping that somehow this is just a dream...) Let's go back to the beginning.
Looking back at the screencaps, I especially loved the parallels between Mick and Dean, sleeping at their respective tables. First, we see Mick having his dream of childhood - killing his friend, who wasn't that nice of a friend, since he forgot, or at least pretended to forget that Mick didn't have a home to go to. The situation though is reminiscent of Harry Potter's situation. He even looks like Harry without glasses.
Because they didn't show Mick sleeping till after the scene, at first I thought that the boy Mick was Toni's son. From the dream we find out that the CODE that these British MoL move by makes them just as much monsters as the monsters they hunt (all the while believing that it is what makes them different). Killing each other so that only those who can follow orders to the letter survive. They also must weaken their ranks significantly by doing so.
Meanwhile, Sam and Dean are getting some new information from Eileen. She is adorable, Sam is adorable. I hope the MoL don't find her in Ireland and kill her :(
Then they come home to find Mick helping himself to some whiskey. Seems the BMoL key also opens their bunker - which actually they should have known when Toni got in... but I guess Sam was too traumatized later to think about that. Mick is upset that they didn't tell him about the Nephilim. He is also upset that they didn't just kill Kelly and get it over with. Sam and Dean explain that they can't do that - she didn't choose to be taken in by Lucifer, they are working on finding her and killing the Nephilim but in the meantime... let's have a drink! And try to get Mick's mind off of it. Love Dean's face here.
Mick falls aseep drunk and can't make his report, his boss who is the headmaster of the school is upset and hints that if the Americans can't deal with the Nephilim right away, they are going to have to get rid of Sam and Dean and all the hunters and do it themselves.
Mick seriously looks like a little boy here - and not the little boy that killed his friend that we saw earlier, a little boy that really does not want to do this awful thing. He obviously has taken to Sam and Dean and wants to do things their way.
Then we have the parallel Dean sleeping scene. Although we don't have any bad dreams here :) I guess that means something too.
Mick comes in and tells him a bit about how he never had a family, and Sam and Dean are like why are you telling us this? It's almost like some sort of eulogy.
Meanwhile, Ketch and Mary are getting along swell, and Mary is looking very very pretty.
They have a hunter sleepover after this.
Back to the boys. Eileen has found a telephone number for Kelly. She is also very pretty, and cute.
Sam phones Kelly, pretending to be the doctor's assistant (I've skipped all those scenes of Luci and the doctor's visit :P) And I like his very bad accent LOL Dean finds her trying to go into the clinic and they "go for a walk."
The setup here is very strange. They take her to some abandoned warehouse lot? and meet up with Mick - who has someone stuck to him like some goldfish poo as the Japanese say. Love how no one cares that the guy graduated with top grades. That was the funniest scene in the ep for me. But what were they planning to do here? Draw Dagon to them and kill her? I thought they were trying to talk to Kelly without interferance... why not set up a place that is protected against Princes of Hell? No preparation whatsoever. The goldfish poo tries to kill Kelly and Dean stops him <3
Then they try to reason with her, but Dagon comes and flings them around, then disappears just as Eileen shoots at her with the colt and goldfish poo gets killed instead. Good riddance. Mick tries to kill Eileen because that's the CODE, but Sam and Dean convince him not to.
The Americans come back to the bunker and Eileen's all upset :'( And Sam and she have a cute hug scene - which is a big contrast with Luci's little hug scene with a demon. Luci's scene also corresponds to a scene of Ketch right before as well, in that they are both naked from the waist up. So we have Ketch naked, Luci naked and hugging demon, then Sam/Eileen hug sceen. Interesting right? I wish I could show all the scenes together, but .. Photoshop shut down on me suddenly so, Just cute Sam/Eileen :P
SAM: It was a mistake.
Then Mick decides to stand up against tyrany and gets killed.
Meanwhile, Sam and Dean have the colt. Which is a very good thing, at least.
But now they are going to be targetted by the British, and Ketch, who's slept with Mary but would have no qualms killing her or her boys... right? Or maybe he just killed Mick to put the *cough*hag*cough* off and really would rather be an "American hunter?" mmmmm.... probably not. *is sad and apprehensive*
So what happened this ep... First, Kelly now knows that her life is in danger and may now want to contact the boys herself. She may also be more agreeable to a painless death instead of what is expected. The boys got the colt and can make bullets for it to kill Dagon. The BMoL headmaster is here and ready to go to war with every single hunter. Mick died and Sam and Dean don't know about it so they may be taken by surprise by Ketch the assassin. (I really hope they changed the lock...) As to Luci, he is still trying to get the curse off of him with the help of a demon but it's going to take some time. He is also constantly in contact with Dagon in her mind. I think that's about it. Not very much really happened, but the ep is definitely setting the stage for what is to come.
For some reason, I don't think this woman is going to last very long. But there is supposed to be a "league" as Mick called it on his phone call with her. This is not the only person in charge, but she does seem to be acting soully on her own judgement (leaning toward Toni's beliefs), which means the British MoL is very much divided on how to deal with the Winchesters and the US situation. It reminds me of the Angel situation in Season 4, and also in Season 8, where Naomi was in charge of a large group of angels but they were still divided into various factions. How this Headmaster can think she can go to war with all the hunters of America all on her own is a puzzle. And why she sent Mick to work with the Winchesters and then changed her mind is rather weird as well.
Things are getting exciting though, aye? Looking forward to the next ep.
