Day 13 - A song that reminds you of a former friend.
I've sucked at keeping in contact with my friends from university up to marriage. I think it's mainly because I could never really find the kind of relationship that I had with my high school bffs. There was one that I hung out with a lot when I first came back to Japan after university. When I was lonely, I'd just call her up and she'd come and stay the night or I'd go over. She was originally my sister's friend though, and after I moved to Hachioji and got busy with husband and kids, we just stopped seeing each other. In my high school days, my sister and this friend were very much into several punk rock bands that they were proud to say they were fans of before they became big. I didn't listen to much Japanese music, but I remember this one because of them.
The Blue Hearts - Train Train (English Translation)
Let's ride the train that’s headed for glory
Rush out barefoot and ride that train
The weak go out at night and beat up those that are even weaker than themselves
As the sound of it echoes, the Blues speed up
Searching for invisible freedom
Shooting away an invisible gun
Let me hear your true voice
This might not be heaven, but it’s not hell either
It’s not full of good people, but it’s not only bad people either
I want to hold you close under a romantic starry sky
I want to have a surreal dream as the south wind blows around me
Searching for invisible freedom
Shooting away an invisible gun
Let me hear your true voice
TRAIN TRAIN barrel forward TRAIN TRAIN to the ends of the earth
TRAIN TRAIN barrel forward TRAIN TRAIN forever
The day you’re living right now is a hundred times more wonderful
than all the anniversaries celebrated all over the world
The day you’re living right now is a hundred times more meaningful
than all the stone monuments all over the world
Searching for invisible freedom
Shooting away an invisible gun
Let me hear your true voice
TRAIN TRAIN barrel forward TRAIN TRAIN to the ends of the earth
TRAIN TRAIN barrel forward TRAIN TRAIN forever
TRAIN TRAIN barrel forward TRAIN TRAIN to the ends of the earth
TRAIN TRAIN barrel forward TRAIN TRAIN to the bitter end
Let's ride the train that’s headed for glory
Rush out barefoot and ride that train
I run through the pelting rain without an umbrella
I run through life, my heart on my sleeve, not hiding my repulsiveness
I’ll never be a saint but it’s better to live life to the fullest
That’s why I sing out as loud as I can
Searching for invisible freedom
Shooting away an invisible gun
Let me hear your true voice
TRAIN TRAIN barrel forward TRAIN TRAIN to the ends of the earth
TRAIN TRAIN barrel forward TRAIN TRAIN forever
TRAIN TRAIN barrel forward TRAIN TRAIN to the ends of the earth
TRAIN TRAIN barrel forward TRAIN TRAIN forever
