Outlander 2-7 Faith Thoughts

Well, that one had me blubbering the whole way through it, just as it was meant to.   Scared Alex and got hubby asking me if I was alright, because I was watching with my earphones on.  Tears and snot running down my face due to not having any tissues nearby.

First though, I thought it was really interesting that they showed Claire and Brianna here at the beginning of the episode. I wonder why?  To show that the child she has in present day is different from Faith? That she will have another?  At the beginning of the season, viewers may have thought that her pregnancy then and now were one and the same.  Could that scene have given false hope that she may not have lost the child here?  It would be interesting to hear what a first time viewer might have thought.

Showing her very white hands, though, and also the blue heron was symbolic of the whole episode.

The most emotional scenes for me were after Master Ramond came to heal Claire: Claire going back home, the homecoming, opening the spoon set, and most of all Claire telling Jamie what had happened. Rocking the little baby and singing to it as Mother Hildegarde and Louise looked on - Louise pregnant with her own child...

This scene just killed me.

Fergus telling Claire what happened to him with BJR was quite painful as well.   I had a bit of trouble with the idea of him with the nightmare and Claire going to find him - but I understand the parallel they wanted to draw between Fergus and Jamie.

The scene where Claire is asked to choose between the two men was quite intense. To be honest, I couldn't watch any of it directly.  Especially this first scene with the King.

Claire does an excellent job playing the role of La Dame Blanche.  Poor Count :(  Even though he may have tried to poison Claire, it was never proven that he was behind the brigand attack and we are left to wonder.

The graveyard scene was just very beautiful.

Wonderful episode :')
